It would be nice if they could work on correcting some of those mental flaws in practice and give Sanheim one more game with a different partner before being sent down. Someone defensive like Alt, LSchenn or Gudas.

As well as he plays in the offensive zone his defensive coverage for the Hitmen was spotty to say the least. Last night it looked like he was trying to make sure he covered his zone. When he has to put that much effort in he's not going to be able to show any offense. I'd hate to see him show up even in the NHL preseason with the game he plays in Calgary. Of all the Flyers D prospects he needs the most work defensively in my opinion.

You can't be surprised. It's the exact same thing they did last season. Get them in here, get them through rookie camp, give them a couple preseason games and get them back to junior. There will be no long looks for players from the previous two draft classes.

In my opinion, Sanheim needs another year of juniors, and at least one year in the AHL, if not two. He could of course speed up his progress. I think two seasons from now is a reasonable expectation for Sanheim to make the Flyers

I was more addressing the timing. If they are going to return a player to junior they want to do it as quickly as possible. I don't think anyone should be surprised by it.

I agree with you there. They saw what they needed to see, and they want the player to have as normal of a season in juniors as possible.

I'll admit gagner on that half wall on pp2 makes sense. Enough to say keep him in the starting lineup.
