Interesting, didn't know that...and what about a guy like Andreas Johnson from Sweden...I know he said he plans on staying in Sweden for the upcoming season...but could he have been invited? I think it would benefit a lot of these guys that would otherwise not be used to the NHL game.

the US guys can attend camp but they would have to pay their own way if i'm not mistaken.

You're wasting your time. This is the whole don't want to rush prospects, but (frank) me he's a prospect get him in thing all over again. Happens annually.

Correct. The PTO's are seat-fillers, not assets. There is a slim chance a seat filler shows a little extra and garners a return and that would be great but thats about it.
- markmark

I don't think so but possible

You have to remember injuries and the attention TO gets on their players...if Matthias or 1 or 2 of these other PTOs get it rolling....there's no reason we cant get 2nd and 3rd round picks possibly

No Jays playoff games for me. Every time I go, they lose. I was there Saturday when Osuna blew it. I'll be more than happy watching them win from my couch.

And the Bozak hate is getting out of hand. (frank)ing Zajac? Seriously???

Water cleanses the system, but you gotta keep replenishing the nutrients in the body if you drink a lot of it.

Nylander will go on to dominate the American Hockey League this season, no question.

He will get games, using defensive issues is a crock, the whole team has defensive issues, the system is being learned by all, even the marlies are learning it to start the season, on one has a step on each other in this regard.
- LeafMan

why are you so anxious to put these kids into a losing environment?

this is the same mistake the leafs have made with their prospects time and time again

we're going to see more of a detroit model moving forward.. where the prospects dont see the light of day NHL wise until they have developed a complete enough game.

and its about time too.

That's not a nice thing to say about Damien Cox. He's just trying to feed his family.

I know your joking.

But truth is... I've watched for WAY TOO LONG these collection of idiots and insiders who follow the Leafs around like lap dogs. Berger the MOST obvious example - they are really misguided fans - who simply won't admit that they are fans - mostly with absolutely no perspective because of their fandom.

There's a good cross-section of bitter jaded ones (McCowan) who have been at it so long they can't remember what objective is. Berger clearly lost his mind around the time Sundin retired.. that whole episode breaking his little fanboy heart.

I really wish Babcock would simply have a button on his upper right or left chest... one of those Business Depot "EASY" things... .change it over to "Stupid Question" with a buzzer. I think the idiots would get the message.

Obviously.

But we can agree that the same thing could be said about a bunch of NHLers currently on the Leafs roster.

- Pecafan Fan

yes.. but who gives a rats ass about the current roster?

let them wallow through the poopty next couple of years and keep the future in the minors where they learn how to win together.

god i wish the min. age for the NHL was 21.. a lot of kids get ruined being sent up too soon.. enjoy some early success then wallow around for a couple years as they learn to play the game they should have been learning how to play in the minors.

It's possible but GM's are becoming more tuned in that these guys are not worth early round picks. You won't see it this year, IMO.

More like the second one, if you've watched any of the videos where he's taking questions from 20 reporters that are asking the most ridiculous questions.

Seriously... if Santo and Winnik could get the returns they did last year, it's not unreasonable to think one of these vets with the motivation to prove they belong in the league couldn't bring back a 2nd or 3rd from a contender at the deadline, especially if a key 3rd liner gets injured and there's a hole to fill. If Dave Nonis gets a job there will be 2nd round picks available - that I can guarantee.

Agreed, they will be on the same page, even in the ÀHL, which is why Detroit has been so successful with their own talent. When they get called up to the big team, they fit in seamlessly because they already know the system.

he still will

the Marlies will be operating under his instruction.. he will watch game tape down there as well on the high end prospects.

I still think he is going to get games, don't think he will have time to oversee the marlies, that is Dubas' job and I don't have faith in him yet, too green.

the guy was the original blame the fans for the failures of management.

scary thing was he sound like the Unholy Goalie individual.

too much time spent in their basements alone.
