Sounds to me like he is criticizing the Buffalo police, not Kane.

And he's absolutely correct (if the allegations are true): dropping off the rape kit bag at the victim's house is not only bizarre, it's a clear case of trying to intimidate someone.

I think they are trying to maximize the amount of draft picks throughout the whole rebuild so that it gives Hunter more wiggle room when drafting. The more you get, the more chance you have of picking a player whose development carries through the while time. So many players hit a wall in their development and don't become the player people thought they could've been.

These PTO's will happen for a number of years to come, but will diminish to the odd 1 or 2 like other teams. The more skilled "prospects" we find in the draft, the easier it becomes to trade some away for specific needs.

While we will continue to trade down for more picks the next few years, that will change. We will start trading up once we see the upswing of the organization. The organization is so far behind multiple teams, that at the moment, in lower rounds quantity is actually extremely important.

This idea of one year rentals will probably happen next year and maybe the year after. There are really only about 4 guys (maybe 3) on the Leafs that actually matter. What matters more is an established environment of ethics, responsibility and expectations.

There will be pain. There will be no shortcuts.

This year was a one off for trading down because Hunter thought that the ability to get top players bled into the 4th round. Next year if he thinks its only the top 50 picks, they'll ry to trade up.

Given what little I've seen from the rookie tourney and preseason, I wouldn't trade Dermott, Bracco and Dzerkalsghyz for Koneckny straight up.

for me it really does boil down to one simple fact

he has not been charged.

it starts and ends there for me. if the police charge him, okay, then the story will hold water for me because that will mean there is something viable enough for the police to take action.

one thing is for sure... he won't be charge unless there's a "smoking gun"....

but that doesn't mean he's innocent... and then it will come down to whether the Hawks want this to "go away quickly" and by association whether "Kane needs it to go away"...

I can't see the Hawks allowing this be a distraction for a whole lot longer.

I don't understand how this happens. I don't think it makes the woman or her lawyer look bad. I think it definitely calls into question how fair the whole process is. There is no way they can argue that the chain of custody wasn't broken. The whole thing really stinks.
