Nah, I had a few people ask me to join theirs (to try and save teams) and I was two short. |

I left mom a gift by the washer - homiedclown
Was it these line combinations?
Tonight's lineup (via WGR's Paul Hamilton):
Evander Kane, Ryan O'Reilly, Tyler Ennis
Jamie McGinn, Sam Reinhart, Brian Gionta
Jerry D'Amigo, Eric Cornel, Nicholas Baptiste
Evan Rodrigues, David Legwand, Jason Akeson
Guhle, Josh Gorges,
Carlo Colaiacovo, Chad Ruhwedel
Jerome Leduc, Matt Donovan
Look again carefully at that. The only thing I can make any sense out of that for a preseason home opener is that it represents an effort to mange fan expectations.

Pretty self explanatory, closer the player is to "good" on that scale the better and vice versa.
x axis is shots for while player was on the ice, y axis shots against while player was on the ice. |

I am not understanding your conclusion on Leduc...he is not
The ice for high amount of shots for, and moderate amount of shots against.
The farther right and top you are the better, right?

its all a bunch of crap that means very little.. the puck was shot a lot while he was on the ice.. what does it matter if 90% of them were dump in type plays that accidentally hit the net? or what if he just had a lot of PP time? or what if he had one skate on the ice getting off every time a shot was taken? granted i really have no clue what type of shots he took.
edit: but that is a lot of shots while he was on the ice. Guhle too (2, to)
edit 2: i see that it is only 5v5 shots so scratch the PP time comment |

That chart is 5 on 5 only so this wouldn't matter. Im sure there are variables but not enough that would move him to the other side of the chart |

This simple analysis tells us Guhle will be good, and for some reason JGL was.. good? This of course doesn't tell the entire story, but this graphic tells us they both played well. |

You want to be top right. You don't want to be bottom left. Your high end talent should be top right and your 4th liners should be top left.

It tells us the team played well often when they were on the ice. That a looser correlation, and not necessarily causal. |

The y-axis is an inverted scale. I think you want to be top-right.
That's why bottom right is labeled "fun". It's basically end to end. |

It's kind of funny to me that we lost the game 5-2, but had the first star of the game. |

"Good" pretty much means that you are on the ice for far more shots for than shots against.
"Bad" means the opposite.
"Dull" means that when you're on the ice, your team never shoots, nor gets shot against. In other words, nothing happens, good or bad.
"Fun" means that when you are on the ice, your team has a lot of shots for and shots against. It's basically either run-and-gun or a cluster(frank). |
