I thought he did, but I could be wrong. It didn't say in the article I read. Simply said "released." - HonkFortheGoose
Yeah - it's probably like Kaleta's in that he has a Rochester contract but was invited to camp on a tryout basis |

He's not listed on General Fanager at all, but neither are Kaleta or Ellis. So who knows. |

--the sabres signed Jacobs to a three-year, two-way, entry-level contract, so it's off to rochester
--although unsigned, buffalo holds the rights to cornel for one more season
--chapman signed a contract with Rochester but also signed a tryout contract with the sabres. they released him from the NHL contract but he's still signed by the amerks
--Goulakos, Asmundson and Motte were all invites on tryout contracts and are now free agents
I believe that's how it goes |

He hasn't even been given a chance to actually be a starter, so how do you know all that? Do you have a crystal ball that tells you what the future looks like? - HonkFortheGoose
I thought about making a McDavid prediction, but he can't win any of the Eichel awards that are handed out. |

I went last year. Decided to just watch on TV this year since it's going to be broadcast on the NHL Network.
Then I can flip between that and the football game. |

With Eichel in the lineup last year, it was interesting given the probability of the Sabres getting him being very high. This year, the top American prospect isn't even playing in the game, and the Sabres most likely won't get him anyway. It's not worth the trek. |

However, he almost made his pre-season debut with another team.
According to three individual NHL sources, Buffalo received a "significant" offer this summer after the NHL Draft that "involved Eichel and another asset."
It is unclear how large the overall package was, but if the trade went through, it would have seen at least one "top line forward" going to Buffalo, one source told TFP.
The offer, another source confirmed, was "seriously" considered by the Sabres, but the deal was later "nixed" by the other team, said to be an Eastern Conference opponent.
It is unknown if the Sabres received any other trade offers for Eichel this summer that came as close to being finalized, or if they have contemplated trading the 18-year-old star center since.

Dude but why? Why trade Eichel? He seems to be everything. - Buffalo--Sabres
Well in a hypothetical that involves stamkos: eichel seems like he could be everything, Stamkos is.
I only said stamkos because of previous rumours, could've been someone else (or a lot of someones) |

Good God no!
I'm looking forward to watching this kid for 15 years...they best not trade him.
I have heard other reports on calls to Sabres about Eichel...and the Sabres response was no way.
I am so looking forward to this season |

It's not like they were giving him away. it's an 18 year old phenom for a proven star, at the very least you'd have to consider it. Don't really know what else was being discussed though. I doubt it was a straight 1 for 1. |

Yeah, as a second layer of security, if you throw horns or bang your head, you're out.
In all seriousness, Kane is looking like the real deal. One game, i know, but that line AND the eichel line on a team sounds real good to me.
I think Kane or Eichel on defensive zone faceoffs on the PK could be lethal with their speed. - seedy
And once that line and the Eichel line become one, and then the Eichel line is replaced by a Reinhart line |

Patrick Roy is a tricky fella to figure out. A lot of the stuff he says about actual gameplay makes sense. Managerially, however..

I hate yost so much, hes such a troll. Discredits the Avs, Roy bc they dont follow his advance stats circle jerk lifestyle.
But as a Sens fan he doesnt say a peep abotu them making it into the playoffs on Hammonds ridiculous hot streak of a .940 save percentage.
You cant have it both way Yost. Rip your own sens for fluking out into the playfofs |
