Because of all the reasons already stated...he is a solid stay at home Dman, from BC, wants to play for the Canucks and be near family, has nice wholesome values/image, would be a good mentor for young Dmen, etc. etc.

I don't follow the logic of when player negotiates a NTC and wants to have his family stay in the city/school they've been in for years, he is somehow a bad guy for not waving.

If he declines, perhaps it's because he really likes the team/area, no?

I don't think Hammer is the problem on the backend. And the idea we should move him BECAUSE the other players can't score isn't something that sits well with me.

Hammer was on pace for 32 points last season, which, in my eyes, means he would have had a hand in producing 32 goals for this team had he not been injured.

I do share your concern though. What was once our strong point, is now mired in mediocrity.
