You should if you want a top 10 pick - VANTEL
He doesn't want a top 10 pick, he wants Sam Bennett. |

Too bad he's 19 now, 18 year old Sam Bennett was the best. |

Would love the team to draft a true #1 Dman.
I fail to see why they can't do that, and then re-sign Hammer to mentor him/protect him, as opposed to throwing him in the deep end.
Seems short-sighted and poor asset management. - dbot
If you want to play the chase game for 4 more years then keep the D the same. No puck movers , no big shots , no fighters no hitters.
One goal last year , Tanev 2 , Sbisa 3 , how many non scoring , non tough Dmen does the team need? |

Yeah, even Messier has stopped calling him. |

So many 1st round picks who fell short or traded.... Luc Bourdon's horrible fatality, Hodgson/Kassian, P. White, Schroeder, Grabner(traded) and 1st for Ballard, Jensen is floating just above this list...last chance... nice to see Gaunce pulled from this list. Shink has time still but isnt exactly looking like a 1st rounder... unless it's our first rounder that is.
Schneider for Horvat seems to be one of the few trades involving our 1st's that was a great result in the end. Naturally, it took one of the few 1st rounders who turned out to be a high end player to get the 9th that turned into Horvat. Just shows how many opportunities are not there when your prospect pool sucks.

Yup. Benning better recoup some picks this year or even some of his supporters and finally the "wait and see" group will being to turn on him. |

3.
I like 3 stay at home Dmen, matched ideally with 3 pmd.
Hence, keep Hammer, Tanev and Sbisa.
Trade Edler...wait and see on the development of Corrado, Bart, Hutton, etc. |

THANK GOD they finally made some changes to the lottery.
Now we have a chance to get both the 2nd and 3rd pick with the lottery balls.
Hard to say where we end up, but this team needs a defenseman in the first round next year.

People need to be patient. Most teams that have a great line up spent a couple yrs in the bottom 1/3 of the league. We have on in a decade |

Choosing Hamhuis over Edler does not fit the teams retool/rebuild.
Sbisa is not that good
Bartowski looks like a better fit as a stay home D .
This is a very weak DCore and it needs changing , even if it has to suffer two years |

No argument about the fact that the D needs improvement, i just don't agree with letting Hammer walk for nothing (would rather re-sign him) if he refuses a trade. |

I'm worried with this being his last pay-day for Hamhuis
Plus Benning is the worst GM in the league at negotiating contracts so that worries me even more

Was that not true? This place will be even more of a zoo than usual if the TDL passes and no picks/prospects are acquired. |

Because it means he wants to stay here and would likely take a discount. |

Kane's accuser's lawyer, Tom Eoannou:
"This is very simple I lack the confidence in the story told to me about how evidence bag was found." #PatrickKane @WGRZ
Sounds like Kane will be in the clear barring a turn of events. |
