He put up 39 points in 81 games in his first season

Very impressive!

- twiztedmike

indeed..but only 3 D had 60 points.. 1 being Burns..who I think plays f also

I actually think him duplicating last season will be impressive..but might not

Funny, I would have liked Marner. Of course, I was operating under the assumption that there was no way the Canes were getting Hanifin.

Still, if you guys an grab another draft pick or two your odds of finding abig center that can play between Nylander and Marner are very high.

Plus you have Kapanen now too

- BINGO!

Marner is a C tho.. need to find a couple more JVR type wingers.. they are even playing Nylander at C

Haven't heard good things about Kapanen in training camp
- twiztedmike

The little I saw of him he seemed to have really quick hands but wasn't really able to use his feet to separate himself from coverage.

i am honestly surprised at how many people want the leafs to fast track the prospects.. all in good time.. babcock isnt going anywhere
- Dozzer

What I don't get is that's exactly the mentality everyone had before. It never worked out. I think you made a post how everyone has logic in how "the prospect will regress being left down." I don't believe in that. I think they can work on their individual deficits in a no pressure environment and fine tune their strengths.

Also, it would be great to see everyone moved up as one. Look at St. Louis they brought up a core of young guys together and even though they underperform in the playoffs they still have a strong team going forward.

I hope he has a strong start again so I can trade him!

I got an inherited keeper pool team. He was one of the Dmen and I needed to keep one so I took him. Hopefully he's worth trading away early on. I don't think he'll replicate 60 points unless he plays a lot of RW on the PP.

exactly

the next couple years should be spent figuring out who Babcock wants to keep and who he doesnt. the rest of the roster can be filled out with cheap 1 and 2 year deals that can be flipped at the deadline for more picks and prospects.

let them grow as a group and become men, not only physically, by mentally and emotionally as well. no need to race them.. i mean.. what would the point be? the NHL is not a league you develop players in, its a league where the players should already know what they need to do.

Tell that to the people who believe prospect need to be developed in the NHL and then get mad when they aren't top line material or top pairing Dmen by 20 years of age.

I like the idea of them growing together. They'll be friends hopefully and will have far more chemistry as a Leaf.

I'm tired of every sports journalist all of a sudden becoming pro lawyers. YOU'RE A SPORTS REPORTER! YOU KNOW JACK ALL ABOUT THIS!

I give credit to a select few who simply talk about it because they are told to and seem to keep their opinion out of things until something actually happens in the case.
