He drove to the net and tipped in two goals in his first pre-season game, so he'll likely finish with somewhere around 130 goals this year (end sarcasm). I will still be happy he's off the team. |

It's effing Toronto fan disease.
Our best players are never good enough, but our 4th line plugs who try hard are elevated to God status.
Kessel sucked, but Komarov is underpaid at $3 million a year X 4 years. |

which is fair...
it will be interesting to see what they do with Leivo, if he isnt part of their future plans they could move him for a nice pick, especially if he starts the year hot with the marlies - Dozzer
I don't know what they do with him, they gave him one game. He is a third liner with very good board work and work ethic. He is a talented grinder that can chip in. |

he will do well. |

I will take a guy who plays at both ends of the rink with everything he has over an offensive sniper who floats around waiting for his team to do all the dirty work for him any day of the week
kessel is an offensive machine no question, but he aint no hockey player. |

I always liked him. Just wrong time to bring him to the Leafs. He's a guy you add to a team to finish it off.
Has anyone built a championship team with a high offense winger as the first and main piece?
Washington is close with Ovie but even then I think Backstrom means more to that team than he does. |

interesting thought
what if he was sent down to be groomed as the future third line core with gauthier?
already pencilled in as the future third line guys who get brought up with the nylanders, browns, kapanens etc |

Do the Leafs trade a guy like Komorov this year? Leafs Lunch are talking a bit about that. That too many guys on 1 ways so I'm just tossing the idea out about Komorov. 3 mil cap hit? Hard working guy? I think he could be traded. - Aaron_85
It would be nice to move a 3 million dollar 4th liner that's forsure. |

true but the fault lay more at management's feet for making him the central point of the team. that was a catastrophic and unforgivable miscalculation by Burke/Nonis. |

Everyone is an expert on evaluation even when the player suffered an injury that hampered him last year.
But he had a few games so he is bust.

exactly.. its a team sport and if one player isnt playing within the systems set out by the coach he has to go no matter how talented he is |

Could be, the only thing I can come up with is that he missed so much time last year that they want him to get his game back. He was effective crashing and banging along the boards. |

I take it as bruce being right about taking things slowly with prospects. Marner will be in the next two rounds of cuts, as for willy, this is why i think a decision hasn't been made yet, with him, froese, hyman and brown. |

I'll be honest. I prefer guys who actually look greatful for what ever level of talent they were given. I cannot stand players who don't give a (frank). I get apoplectic when said player who doesn't give a (frank) makes 8mil a year |
