What? How?
In what way are they better this year than last?
They lost Soderberg for nothing this year, who was 3rd on the team in scoring.
They lost Lucic for nothing useful this year.
They lost Hamilton, their top scoring D Man last year, for picks that don't help this year.
They lost Smith for Hayes, which isn't exactly much of an upgrade, if an upgrade at all.

They did get Belesky, a guy who hit 20 goals / 30 points once in his 7 year NHL career. This earned him almost 4 mil per year long term.

Playoffs? I doubt it. They got a lot of draft picks, so they should refill their ranks in the coming years, but this year is gonna be rough for the B's.

Losing Hamilton sucks, but as a whole the defense will be better. C Miller, Trotman and Morrow are for real. Irwin has also impressed. This team will surprise people

The Bruins are stocking the shelves with decent young prospects. However, few are ready yet for prime time, from what I've seen. They will be fine in the long run. Less so through this year. I'd kinda like to see the Bruins tank this year and steal the #1 pick, to piss off Leaf fans. :D

* Sorry Leaf fans, but you are adorable when you are angry.

I get why people think that cus the B's didn't add any sexy names to replace the ones they lost, but I'm telling you, they'll be better. They have lots of early/mid twenties guys ready to make an impact. The young D (and Irwin) have been lights out in the preseason. As has Ryan Spooner, who may be better than soderberg (at least skill/speed wise)

Why even play the season, y'all got it figured out and anyone who defies the consensus is ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!

There's 56 happy faces so you know I'm just being sarcastic.

but the Sabres will shock all of you. And the Habs will disappoint.

Habs may disappoint you Tanner because they are a good team thats the only idiot they will disappoint

1 Tampa - Tampa wins. They just do.
2 Montreal - Prince not as good as last year but still Price. Hang onto 2nd. Still think they struggle to score, so they aren't as solid #2 this year
3 Ottawa - See no reason to think they are worse than last year. Better than they started, but balanced out by not being godlike as they were to finish.
4 Detroit - Young guys not quite there yet, and old guys get older, but they still keep ahead of the up and comers
5 Florida - Young guys getting better every year. Jagr and Lungo getting older hurts, but their young guys getting better keeps them out of lower standings
6 Buffalo - Additions cause a drastic improvement. But drastic only brings them to 6th. Defense is not terrible, but not good either. Questions in the net
7 Boston - Bruins are literally falling apart. Chara now down, Seidenberg ( though not as good as he used to be ) also down. #1 D is Krug? Lotsa pressure. Only so much Rask can do.
8 Toronto - Rebuilding and most of the young talent will be on the Marlies this year developing. Tough year, but good for them in the long run.

One extra factor that makes predictions even more tricky this year is the addition of 3 on 3 OT, as no team in this division was particularly successful in the shootout, so it will be very interesting to see which teams are good at picking up the W before the skills contest.
Could make a substantial difference, since the average team in the Atlantic went to extra time 16-17 times last season

Hilarious!!! Tanner, your brain must be so warped watching too much Coyote hockey or something.

Really, no reason for the Habs to be worse this year. Price's stellar performance may not be repeatable but perhaps our offense can be better. You are delusional to think the sabres rookies and subpar vets will be able to finish from dead last to the top of the NHL.

I don't think they'll be as crap but at best, you'd be fighting for a spot.

Montreal has been over the last few seasons fighting for 1st.
