They have their NHL roster playing . We have about 8 guys at least going back to Utica.
We have looked good at times.
I don't think our tradition years are going to be that bad.
Add Tanev Edler , the D looks a whole lot different. Still even without Hamhuis.
Put in Horvat Hansen and we look a little better offensively - VANTEL
That was ugly until you look at the rosters and realize it was basically an NHL team VS an AHL team. |

I must be crazy, I don't think Vey has looked bad. - CubanBuffet
He's been okay I guess, to be fair it's going to be hard for him to look good with Dorsett/Prust who just want to dump the puck in and get a hit. Vey needs to play with skilled guys, a skill guy playing with two grinders on the 4th line rarely works. |

Plus Gaunce has outplayed him, Gaunce played with two AHL'ers tonight and still looked better IMO. |

Linden Vey is straight up garbage.
How long till our impotent GM gives away another 2nd rounder for someone else's garbage?
Man this is going to be a long season.

Is Vey really that much better than Schroeder? They both seem like tweeners, AHL stars but can't get it done in the NHL unless they want to become Paul Byron. |

He's not a bottom six player. I bet he gets a game with Vebata during the preseason. |

Vey is no good as a bottom 6 and not good enough to be top 6. He needs time but thats doesnt work in his favor either because Cassels and McCann are going to blow right by him in a year.
I'd be surprised if Vey is a Canuck next season.
Hank, Bo, Sutter, McCann down the middle.

Yeah, that'd be better than hoping he clicks with 2 4th liners. Give him his shot with some skilled guys and if he fails then at least you know you put him in the right position to show what he's got. |

I can maybe see a bottom feeder picking him up, like ARI or CAR or some random team like that. But outside of that, he'd probably clear |

Shink and JV had some good moments in this game... Shink really stepped up the intensity and the two of them started flying in the 3rd.
I have a good felling about Markstrom this season. As long as they don't let him get too cold. - boonerbuck
Shink had a good game and a great third period...making a case.
Markstrom is positionally much better so far this year they must have been working on it. Looking big in the net and the puck is hitting him. |

My bold prediction is that he outplays Miller. |

Got their asses kicked in faceoffs too
Team: 19-57 33%
Vey: 3-15 20%
Sutter: 6-19 32% |

Wow, its so embarrassing it is funny
Linden Vey with 18 minutes of Ice Time tonight.
Does this guy have dirt on the coaches or something??
How the hell does he deserve that ice time with Shinkaruk getting just 10 mins |

Yeah if you can slip him through. But it's not like he hasn't spent time in the AHL. he spent 3 years being a major contributor on the team that destroyed our team in the Calder cup finals last season.
If your plugging him into the fourth line he's not going to succeed. If you give him some more offensive line mates he still might not succeed, but at least you'd know. |

Its reasonable to assume he will be better at times. People will rush to controversy mode after every good performance by Markstrom and every poor performance by Miller. It's the media and fans more than the goalie situation. People thrive in the soap opera world.

If Markstrom has a better sv%(and shot quality adjusted sv%) for most of the year then it will be well deserved. |
