Bertuzzi fought 3 times one season. Only season he ever fought more than twice.
Bieksa on the other hand, had two years with 6 fights, three years with 5, two years with 4, and three years with 3. - KB3Point0
This is why so many have blinders on for the negatives of Bieksa.
There is no denying that Bieksa was exciting when he dropped the gloves... he was fast and hit hard and had an amazing low center of gravity enabling him to be able to violently rag doll people. In fact, Bieksa influenced the style of fighting for a while there... you saw guys experimenting with his moves....

you lost me a little bit.
I am not sure if you are heaping a lot of the blame on the Sedins for not standing up for themselves? I can see some of that. But Daniel gettting speed bagged by Marchand in the finals and Marchand not getting a 2 min minor was a joke, made the league look like wrestling.
When we had the President's trophy a few seasons in a row, we were a bench mark for other clubs to beat. But isn't that the case with many teams or their fans they think there is a rivalry, but there isn't, just fans get up for the games? Didn't the Wild think they had a rivalry with us?
Sometimes I think original 6 clubs must catch a break from the refs. league. - hillbillydeluxe
I know the Sedins were instructed to not retaliate . I think they took it for the letter of the law a little too fine on that one incident , but I respect them for putting the team first.
I was saying we have a bigger target on our backs than most teams including Det . They don't need to have the big goons on their team because other teams don't hate them as much as they hate us.
They also play a 5 man PP which is a lot more effective than our 2 man PP so they can mke them pay for taking dumb penalties . |

One good season???
He broke 10 goals or better 6 times. He had several good seasons on bad teams. - boonerbuck
For a top ten list, he had one good season. If he's a top ten all time d-man for the Canucks, I'm drinking all weekend.

What did Freidman say? - VANTEL
Something about Gillis and Aquilini cracking champagne in Boston in their hotel after game 2 basically celebrating a cup win. I don't know the details of it others on here have talked about it before, but I think some of their pre-celebtating leaked out into the local Boston press...Don't quote me on that tho... |

The list is conflictive. Erhoff was so brief,,, Hammer is a stay at home who doesnt get points... Bieksa get's #2 on a popularity vote....
Aucoin had 3 half seasons for us iirc... he still piled up a ton of goals in his 5 broken seasons... he did everything Bieksa did except the piles of 2nd assists. His shot was a serious cannon... only Salo comes close for the shot.
He skated slower than my internet connection I'll admit

I think there is some validity to us being a big target, but I think just about all the top teams in the league are. Stanley cup champs, tops in the east or west, doesn't matter, elite teams and anyone that was right there with them. We were in there for a while sans cup.
Would we need the goons if the players stood up for each other? It is almost like we need the injection of grit to swing the pendulum back closer to a more respected, can't take advantage of them physically, sort of club.
Am I agreeing with you now by saying that last part?

Yeah, this was the story. I wasn't sure who leaked it, but I guess it was Friedman. I'm guessing there's a few management teams that have partied a bit prematurely, but clearly they were overconfident. |

Hamhuis actually has pretty respectable point totals for a guy viewed as a solid defensive dman. |

was this in addition to the story of FA and MG buying drinks for a bunch of reporters and such at a place in Boston? (James Duthie story, Aaron Ward may also have been there) |

I'm more surprised about Erhoff being on the list, i know that he played great hockey for its, for what? Two seasons. How do you make an all time list without playing at least five.
That's the only reason for Sbisa missing out, by the time his contract is up, he'll be top ten. ...... top ten what? I'll let you decide. |

Friedman said it was a private gathering at a restaurant and he was actually there with them. Or "I'm stuck on Lepages" maybe(80's joke)....
