I'm not saying that because im comparing us to last year. The fact is it took close to 100 pts to make the playoffs last year. You look at past standings and the makeup of some of the other teams competing for a playoff spot, we're not there yet. - Sabresfan-365
I think we have a very good chance to be on par with Ottawa, Detroit, Boston and Florida (teams that made the playoffs or just missed). |

Then you've got Detroit and Ottawa who are probably better defensively and then there's florida and Columbus who will likely be better as well. |

Yes, there is a chance for playoffs.
Ultimately, while I'll be rooting for a win each and every game again (man will that feel good!), I still think they finish with some 80-85 points.
It has been said many times on here, but goaltending will prove to be the difference...not godawful (I hope anyway) ... But time is needed to develop further and take the next step for Lehrner. |

Right, my point is that we will be in the mix with those teams. Some teams are probably better in some spots than we are, some aren't. I think Columbus is the best of that group. |

Right, and some won't. Just like we are reminded every time someone brings up what we moved out to acquire the pieces we did.
If we took a poll 2 years ago whether Jake McCabe would be an NHL'er by this point, I'd be willing to bet most would say yes. It looks like he's Rochester bound - sbroads24
And if fans took a poll 2 years ago that we would add E Kane, ROR, Bogosian and the only roster player we give up is Myers, we'd all vote yes to that. |

Really happy about Guhle looking like a potential steal. If he pans out this could be the best pick Murray and staff have made so far (besides picking 2nd overall). Even if this kid needs another year in Juniors, that is a pretty nice value at 51 overall |

We were high on a lot of those non roster players though. I mean technically reinhart wasn't a roster player last year. 2 years from now they could be better than what we brought in. |

It's possible but injuries and underachieving could hold us back. It's still a pretty young (and new) group. Hard to predict how well it will go. Probably what makes it exciting though. |

Imagine a world where Marrone didn't opt out or Bogosian scores on that breakaway against the Coyotes.

Flash is better.
The two different trailers idea Warners is going to do is a cool idea. |

The best part of Moron's departure was it was based on his belief he would be HC with The Jets...then they interviewed him and said no thanks. What a complete A-hole, but sure glad his arrogance took over and he left. Now he gets to design line blocking schemes. Maybe he'll quit that so he can take the job of the guy who splices all the film study together.
What a joke! |

Yeah a lot of what I read was that if it wasn't for Eichel it would've been a horrible draft. This Guhle kid looks good, and depending on the severity of the two new injuries, both listed as week-to-week, he'll probably get his 9 games and then back to junior for him, but he definitely seems to be a good one in the making.

You can't evaluate Murray based on the players he drafted in the 2015 draft. So many of his acquisitions were trades involving picks. To focus exclusively on players that WERE drafted - and ignore the talent the picks brought - is simplistic. |
