After Friday nights game, I was trying to make my way through the traffic nightmare down on the Lakeshore.

Some guy on Jays talk actually argued that Navarro was a better catcher than Russell Martin. He even went so far as to tell the host that he should see what the other listeners think.

I felt shame for even listening to that. It might be the dumbest Toronto sports fan call-in I have heard on the radio and that is really saying something.

Poor Robidas. Guy always played the game hard, but it looks like he is done.

I'm confident that the call in shows are like the reality tv shows. The producers screen for the biggest and most entertaining idiots out there. There's little value in having someone come on and say what most people already know.

The host was almost laughing at how ridiculous the guy was being. At one point the host managed to get the guy to admit that Martin was a better defensive catcher, and had better offensive numbers... the guy eventually resorted to "grit". Apparently Russell Martin did not have enough grit, and when he went through a dry spell at the plate earlier, he really hurt the team.

It was mind-boggling.

Navarro has been great, and has had some timely hits for sure.. its surprising he has stuck with the team. But im glad he has... but fans are so reactionary.. like when Holland had a good game last season.. he was penciled in ahead of Kadri the next day
