Legit? Maybe, or maybe it was convenient. I'm just saying, the timing was curious and even if he was legit injured, JB took advantage of the loophole. - DariusKnight

He got laid out with a big hit, had a shoulder injury and missed valuable practice time. Benning isn't Gilman/Gillis, the guy doesn't strike me as someone who finds loopholes in the CBA and league bylaws. The only time he's shown that is in handing of Yannick Weber.
I'd be shocked if he tries to come up with injury for JV or McCann. I'll be the first one to admit I was wrong if he tries it too. |

Preaching to the choir bud
Sutter is still a decent bottom 6 player, but yeah those contracts boggle my mind. - Nucker101
I was thinking about your comments while I watched Sutter fumble around on the ice. I hope he is A LOT better when the season starts.
Regardless of the money, they are just poor NHLers. I think your opinion of them is spot on. |

How were the Sedins tonight. They looked out of place , slow and disinterested tonight?
I don't think any of the vets have looked very good yet. It has been all about the kids so far |

To be honest they all played poorly as a team but I went and focused on a few players of interest. Never remember really seeing Sutter play before. He looked confused and that surprised me. He's got lots of NHL experience.
Hutton was the biggest surprise. So calm for a rookie. Really impressed me. |

Sutter hasn't been causing giveaways , he doesn't even have regular line mates yet. He had two nice setups in the game. |

If Vey doesn't turn out to be a decent nhl player or if the Canucks don't get a top half second round pick for him, then JB is an idiot or made a series of stupid moves. Forcing Garrison out while keeping bieksa was stupid. Trading a second for Vey would be an overpayment and another stupid move. If JB wanted cap room he should have traded bieksa. |

Whaa whaa whaa
How many 2 nd rounders are currently on Canucks roster playing in the NHL?
There was a gap that needed filling , he tried to do it , it failed. At least he tried.
Since when did Garrisson become Bobby Orr?
He is getting rid of a stale inept core. Get over it. |

Having the rookies play much better then expected is not a bad problem to have.
Vey was an insurance move, giving management the freedom of not having to rush in younger players who aren't ready.
It looks like the opposite is happening; good news.
That 2nd is long since gone, get over it. |

I don't understand the fear of losing players like Vey Kennins Higgins and Weber for better players and no difference in cap hit.
Of course you could try to trade them if you could find a sucker/partner. |

I don't think people are worried about losing them, I think people are concerned about the players feelings if they don't make the big club. |

Which is finally a good thing.
Markstrom looking more and more confident every time. Look out Miller...he's coming...

I know . I have seen some weird reasons on here for not making change.
The good thing is WD is looking at the games and asking , who do I really want to play here?

The thing I like about Markstrom is JB seen in him before most of us.
I was one of the biggest complainers about bringing him up unproven, and now eating crow. Which is delicious |

Agree completely. McCan, Hutton, Gaunce have done enough to make some vets nervous about losing jobs. |

If you don't find a way to get both peanut butter and cheese on your toast in the morning, or find a way to trade cheese for jam AND honey then you are an idiot. I mean come on, what kind of person would limit themselves to only one toasted bread topping per day? |

But if you could trade cheese for Nutella and say, coconut oil, that would be good asset management.

You have to take into account the feelings of the Nutella in order to assess the value of the coconut oil and the cheese or are you throwing in the cheese as a future consideration? |

You also need to asess the chemistry between the toppings and the bread, honey and nuttela on 8 grain don't have the chemistry that jam on white do, so by having less assets you actually achieve a better result.
Super complex stuff here, it's why we just talk about toppings and don't make the sandwich I guess. |

Send Corrado, Higgins and kenins to Utica. I don't care if we lose Corrado on waivers as Hutton is way ahead of him. Nobody would claim Higgins. Hutton, Gaunce and Mccan deserve to be on the roster.
**ignore these moves as Higgins feelings haven't been taken into consideration. |

Honey is an Eastern Conference thing, we should try and keep this relevant and stick to Western Conference assets. Having said that, your contribution is most welcomed. |
