Lecavalier, Gagner, Gudas, Manning out. Couturier, Bellemare, Del Zotto, and Medvedev in. Make a difference?

If it doesn't we're in for a long season

Why would Kreider drop the gloves in preseason?
- rangerdanger94

Exactly, why would he drop the gloves?
There are still plenty of goalies left for him to run at.

How far away were you from the ice? The replay clearly and definitively shows Nash sticking out his leg and creating the contact on Voracek.

I hope so. Shot attempts in the game last night were 62-35 in favor of the Rangers Del Zotto and Medvedev can both help in generating offense at 5 on 5, and to move the puck. Couturier is strong in shot prevention, and in turning defense to offense. Flyers seem to have the same issue that they had all last year last night. Not generating enough shots at the net.

I can't say it's a surprise, but it's disheartening how useless VLC looks out there. I'll be disappointed if they keep the "we're trying to get Vinny going" charade up once the games matter.

The Nash penalty was completely incidental and Vorachek actually ran into Nash

Yeah, the reality is they will. I'm actually a little optimistic that with some stability, AMac and Luke can become a contributing 5-6 pair.

I'm more worried about the offense. I think the team will still struggle for secondary scoring and 5 on 5 play.

Medvedev, (despite the language barrier, smaller rink adaption, & learning the culture), has proven to be one of our better defensemen already.
It's a stretch to say so this early, and albeit playing against weaker lineups, but he has transitioned well so far.
He and Del Zotto would make a big difference, and Couturier's strengths cannot be duplicated by any other "fill in" player.
I'd rather live with Laughton's mistakes, as they are attributed to experience, and coaching. If he didn't have the tools he'd never see 3 on 3 OT.

Definitely, we all know how important Courutier is to this team. MDZ and Medeved will be critical to the system of play Hakstol is looking for. Bellemare is a spark plug.

Kredier's not a fighter. He'd much rather run the other team's starter and run away.

Of course, he didn't really run Price intentionally. Instead, he changed the laws of physics and the power of inertia for that split-second and accidentally slammed into his skates first.

Sounds like Couturier, Raffl and Neuvirth all missing from practice.

I'm definitely not looking forward to another year where the 2nd and 3rd lines fail to produce offensively.

If they do again I want to see Hexy make a bold move. Streit for a 1st and then get a package together for something significant for line two.

Patience is great but you also need to have the right pieces. And I'm not sure if they do.

so then by your logic if you make more you should be the player.

Yes. It is nice, and generally considered a positive thing, when a player plays to what he is paid.

I think it's definitely time to reunite that pairing. They've been solid in the past. I think they have the individuals to provide secondary scoring. However, the mix of the forwards is off. My concern is there is no solution for that on the horizon.

They really need a guy that can be an offensive force on Coots wing and they just don't have it.

Players (all things being equal) are paid based on both past and projected future play. So, yes, a higher paid player should theoretically be better than a lesser paid player.

Preferably someone who can stay on their skates and possess the puck.

The kid I personally keep coming back to as a somewhat realistic trade target is Hertl. He's like Matt Read on steroids.
