It's a borderline hit, IMO. I love that Deslauriers took exception to it and went after Phaneuf though. I'll take that penalty all day long.

From this angle you can see that it was a bit high, but Guhle knew he was coming. His head wasn't down and he was looking right at him.

If Toronto was willing to keep a good chunk of his cap hit, sure. I don't think he's worth what he's getting paid though.

The defense definitely was fine last night. I'm just tempering my expectations because 1. It's preseason and 2. They played the Leafs.

I can't find anywhere htat keeps preseason stats but I feel like Sam and Eichel have about 5 points a piece so far in the preseason's 5 games.

I think that Buffalo is goign to have its learning and gel moments early on and lose some games. We have 16 new skaters on this team from last season after all.

Keeping healthy will be the biggest thing for us

Detroit is hard to say because it depends on how healthy they are. Plus, they have a lot of good young talent too. What makes them hard to gauge as well is how they'll do with a new coaching staff. Too many unknowns.

their coaching style hasn't changed much and with the possession game they play they could still be very good.. pavel and zetterbergs health will be HUGE factor for them.. also if Mike Green can fit in their defense.
