Nope. Won't be decided until right before the season starts. - HonkFortheGoose
To be more precise, the public is not going to know until the Sabres very first goal of the regular season.
This is what I have learned anyway.
Unless of course it is leaked out prior.

i am finally excited about the Sabres again.. i like the style of play they built the offense around too.. tough and fast - IndianaSabresFan
Exactly. This team is boiling with excitement and confidence. If a team plays with confidence it can be a dangerous team.
We will take our lumps and bruises, some bad losses and games, but I think at the end of the season... teams are gonna know that this team is going to only get better and be a force in the future.
It's a borderline hit, IMO. I love that Deslauriers took exception to it and went after Phaneuf though. I'll take that penalty all day long.
From this angle you can see that it was a bit high, but Guhle knew he was coming. His head wasn't down and he was looking right at him. - HonkFortheGoose
I am curious if Guhle thought he was going to get around him with his speed and that is why he didn't seem to get out of the way of what was potentially coming.

He may have thought he could. But the problem is the NHL game is so much faster.

It's great. Even if the defense and goaltending struggles at times this year, the games should still be fun to watch because the offense is going to be so much better than it was.
In an NHL Office of Discipline that was more reliable and predictable, I think this hit would get a pass. Looked to me like the principal point of contact was below the head - though it could have been higher if the bodies had moved differently immediately prior to contact. I also can't see any malicious intent.
In the real NHL this is a hit that would get a pass for "White Hats" and guys like Kaleta or Scott would be disciplined.

No more getting a 1-0 or 2-1 lead in the 2nd period and playing dump it every time and let our goalies get shelled for 50 shots.
We might actually go for empty netters and put games away for once in a decade or two.

It's borderline. I don't like that it happened to one of our guys, but I don't necessarily think it was malicious.
