I agree

Hopefully Sutter starts pouring it on soon
Because he hasn't shown anything to show he is better than Bonino.

We disagree on those points...

also, Bieksa was traded too late, it's not hindsight when since i was calling for bieksa to go instead of garrison at the time it happened.

he could have used the 3.6 mill much better than taking a 3 year flyer on Sbisa, unless he really truly believes they can make him into the player he was projected to be as a 1st rounder...

- kaptaan

Where does this "could have traded bieksa" come from though? Maybe he wasnt willing....

We are basing this simply on contract statuses. Do we know if it was that black and white? Just a reminder...

OMG... lets count how many critical one liners you belt out in the last few days just for fun...

You just got butthurt over me saying MG is your boy after you just did the same thing to me... even though we both criticize and give credit to both bodies of work... the only difference is you couldnt wait til the end of the 1st season and I gave MG years.

..and my comment is legit. You give those players credit for getting to game 7 of the final but Kesler and Bieksa mailed it in for the final... can just play half the hand you are dealt in this game all the time... time to call house on your ass....

- boonerbuck

1) I only drop one liners when the discussion isn't legit

2) fair enough on that

3) Nope, you're suggesting that those guys weren't going all out in that SCF. That's a laughable comment, ask everyone here and I doubt anyone questions that team's heart. They played hard, the only issue was their diving antics and lack of balls after a whistle since that was what they were told to do.

4) You want' to call house on my ass after suggesting that the players didn't go all out in the SCF? Might be the stupidest thing you've ever said. Even Chompsey and CanuckDon aren't gonna back you on this one.

I don't blame Sutter, but for the fringe vets like Prust to do it is kinda funny. Especially when Dorsett and Cracknell were busting ass all night.

History does not say that a 22 year old rookie can't become a solid NHL'er straight out of camp.

I think Prust was busting ass, just that his busting ass is really slow....

Why waste McCanns offensive skill to play 7 minutes a night with knuckle draggers.

Give him 3 Rd line minutes and linemates or send him down

- VANTEL

Put him in Higgins' spot on the wing? Wouldn't be against it.

Have to expect a lot of changes within the 3rd and 4th lines and time on special teams.

One of my fears with McCann is his size, not very heavy but he still might have a better NHL game than Vey.

7 minutes might not be a lot to start with, but I think Bo started with the same amount.

at the end of the day, even if one of the young guys stayed with the club beyond their 9 games, if it isn't working out, they can be sent back to jr like Draisitl last season with Edmonton.

Yup, he's more physically and mentally mature at that age. My other argument is that he's outplayed every other fringe dman on this team during pre-season when all of them should be going at 100%. Any fringe player not going 100% during the pre-season probably isn't the kind of guy you want on your team.

Is this part of our discussion? Nope. It's a joke with a winky face.

So yesterday was my first pre season game of the year and was very impress with: McCann, Hutton amd Gaunce. Hutton look so confident and his first pass is pretty good but like chompsey said he only play 39 games per season in the last 3 or 4 season so does he have the mental strenght. McCann wrister is awesome remind me of Sakic( ok not quit) but pretty good for such a young player. Gaunce is the most improve player from last year TC.

Same thing as before. It wasn't part of our legit discussion. You were joking about feelings I added another one.

Wrong again.

It's clear now that Sbisa wasn't just a cap dump Benning was forced to take, he actually wanted him. Can only imagine what other asset ANA would have given up instead(Rakell, Perrault, Etem, 2nd or 3rd rounder, etc.)
- Nucker101

You're stretching again. Every rumour specifically stated that the Ducks were not going to trade Rakell, Etem or other picks. Can't speak for Perrault specifically, although I'm sure he was in the same boat.

Agree, although I would waive vey. Although it sucks losing a second round pic it's still a sunk cost. Move on and cut your losses
- CanuckDon

Lots of his moves have pissed me off. I just don't whine about minor transactions. I also respect that he is bold and isn't scared of making mistakes unlike that idiot Gillis. He also doesn't have an ego like Gillis. He recognized that he over valued Bonnino and ditched him. I respect that

I really don't think teams are afraid of Dorsett/Prust. And most of Dorsett's fights last year were just against other goons anyway and those guys will always be physical no matter what.
- Nucker101

Are players actually afraid of goons??? Why? They don't fight anyone but other goons anymore.

Perrault was given away pretty cheaply. And even if only depth players/prospects or later round picks were available, those were all bette options than Sbisa. Bad pro scouting.

I'm still pretty excited about Jake too but he is trying to hard to make plays and its hurting him at times. He needs to go down for a bit after a few games of regular season.

I might get in trouble for that but Vrabata should be on the first line to show case him for the tdl. The only way we can get maximum value for him.

By overpaying again? He overpaid Sutter big time. 2 wrongs don't make a right and nothing was really wrong with Bonino as a 3LC. WD barely matches lines anyway and Sutter isn't much of a shutdown 3LC.

Hes 22, I don't think a season in the NHL would hurt either. If he wins spot outright I am fine with waiving or losing someone to waivers. You put your best players on the ice.
- thundachunk

Another thing to consider is the 82 game schedule. Coming out of college Hutton has played less then 40 games the past 3 years. A full 80 game season in the AHL might be beneficial. Even if he does make the team out of camp it wouldn't surprise me to see him start to run out of gas in the latter part of the year.
