Pretty on board with this. This is what I'd role out as well. I think if Dumoulin starts on the bottom pairing during regular season play that'll go a long way towards settling his stomach.
EDIT: oh never mind. I didn't see you had Letang-Maatta separated. I just don't think you can keep those two apart. They're too good. - Victoro311
Agreed.
Clen has played himself into the Pouliot top 4 spot. Don't agree with sending DP down. Put him with Lovejoy and give him a steady 13-14 mins a night and let the funk work it's way out. Then rotate Dumo and Lovejoy. See how this works before selling off picks/prospect (the one or 2 we have) for rentals.

I can't believe we traded a 1st rd pick for Perron ... seems like a waste. He definitely hasn't stepped up to the plate. He looks like he plays scared. He is also not vocal enough. Too nice or something. - chimpira

He is essentially doing the same thing Mattaa did. I don't think anyone would suggest to trade Mattaa anytime soon (except Matchett to Philly ). Same w/ Sprong. |

Yeah... To hear management talk about him... They think he's virtually saving their prospect pool. |

I still can't believe I was pissed we picked him over Bittner. I'm such a moron. I'm far too blinded by power forwards. Probably why I love Plotnikov so damn much. |

Scuderi for OEL. - Victoro311
In all seriousness, would you do Perron + Dumoulin plus maybe a pick for Stone? That frees up 3.5M in cap space, and bring in a top 4, physical defenseman. |

I don't know enough about him since I never watch Arizona. What's his cap hit, how old is he, what side does he play, and how would he fit into our system? |

He has a 1.1M cap hit, and is a RFA at the end of this season. He is 25, 6'3", 210lbs, led the Yotes in hits and blocked shots, averaged 21 minutes a night, not sure what side he plays, but he is a right shot. |

Ok... Seems like a good profile so far but can he move the puck or is he a more traditional defensive defenseman? Or is he a defensive minded puck mover? |

Fun unrelated factoit time. There was once a "sarcasm mark" that you would use as puncuation after a sentence that is written sarcastically. I see absolutely no reason for it to not still exist. Places like this really need it. |

Ugh trades already. I for one think they need to keep perron and play him with sid and kessel. He's our #1 LW. Let him build chemistry with those two and try trading kuni instead.
As for D. The kids can't learn if they don't play. Let them play. |

From everything I've seen, he's an all around defenseman, more leaning to the defensive side, but not lacking in the offensive side. He had 18 points last year on an offensively challenged Yotes team. |

Whether or not a defenseman fits in our system has less to do with how well he can shoot from the point and pinch and more so how good he is at facilitating controlled zone exits and skating through the neutral zone. I would love to have a physically imposing guy that fits well into our system even if he's not the best offensively. That's what I hoped Dumoulin would turn into, so if Arizona wants to make that trade then why not? But here's where I'd try to see if one of our goal tender prospects could work to sweeten the pot since I'd rather build our defensive depth than exchange defensemen. |
