He's looked good in his role, but yeah, I'd rather use that spot as a way to ease a younger player into a bigger role, a la Horvat. |

We need to cut bait with Vey and trade him as soon as possible. It's obvious he's not suited to this team, and rather than risking him to waivers we should at least get something back for him. |

Or how he kept it when the broadcasts switch to HD. The man does not have a complextion for 780p

If they can, great, but I don't think it's that easy. Every team has an abundance of tweeners right now and they're making their own hard decisions. I doubt too many are willing to trade assets to acquire Vey. Honestly, I think he has a better chance of clearing waivers then acquiring assets in a trade. |

My drunken rant....
Every team needs a Sbisa. Vantel, don't give into Nucker and the other kids rants. He is a a physical beast. Yes, he (frank)s up all the time but he is one of 2 players that makes the other team accountable. Guys, if you don't understand the need for grit in your lineup (frank)off and play tennis |

Every team needs someone to be the fall guy. Someone to blame when things go wrong. Someone to pick up the take out and deliver it back to the hotel.
He is overpaid by half a million or 2, but I don't think that he is horrible. ....
I just want him to have a good year, I want him to be the anti tanner.
I also want a unicorn, but my wife won't let me. |

I'm looking forward to the inevitable freak-out when the remaining cuts are made. The mass hysteria and echoes of 'Benning sucks' should be quite entertaining. |

I'm not looking forward to that. It's bad enough through pre season, can you imagine the anti Benning Gillis worship that will occur if the canucks fall on their face.
Will their be Benning worship if they kick arse this year?
Will nucker come back to the light? |

Yep, I've moved on from him turning it around. JB took a chance and it didn't pan out.

I think you have it backwards. There will be plenty of Benning worship if the canucks get a high draft pick and it ends up being a legitimate young star.
Everyone here wants the same thing, it's just that some would like the change to happen a little more quickly. Out with the vets and in with the youth. |

It's going to happen either way, I think. I don't know how much success one can expect with this group.
To me, the question is all about the guy who will be shipping those veterans out. Do you trust Benning to make those trades? |

I trust that he will have the courage to do it. Which is more than I can say about 29 other GMs. |
