Wow, you really like the Jackets this year. - SuperSchennBros
Yeah, I do. I really feel that if they hadn't been decimated with injuries last season, that they would have been a playoff team. I think that the top 5 teams in the Metro all finish with 98-106 points. The Flyers will improve from last year, but unless one of those 5 teams is crushed with injuries, they still won't make the playoffs.

I'm not sure that Gudas will be in the lineup over Schenn. None of us really know what Hakstol is thinking when it comes to AMac/Gudas vs Manning/Schenn. - BiggE

No, but I could see him on the 4th line. - Feanor
4th liners are dime a dozen, I'd rather see if changing position could allow him to be a top 9 forward. If not, you can always move him back to center.

If the jackets can stay healthy they'll compete for the division with Pitt and rangers IMO |

Yup, could really see any of those 3 and even Washington or, less so though, the Isles in the hunt for the division crown. |

Gotta disagree with that. I think the Flyers are significantly closer to the top 5 teams in the division than they are to the Devils or Canes. I see the Devils finishing with 78-83 points and the Canes, who are my pick for dead last in the NHL, with 67-72.

I think the Rangers, Penguins, Caps and Islanders are all better then the Jackets. There is no doubt in my mind. I do not like that Columbus D. |

Yeah, I think so. At least Arizona has some quality Dmen. The Canes are hurting pretty much everywhere. Also, IMO, the Canes play in a tougher division and that will factor into their final record. I think the bottom 10 overall teams are:
21. Ottawa
22. Buffalo
23. Edmonton
24. Colorado
25. Boston
26. New Jersey
27. Vancouver
28. Toronto
29. Arizona
30. Carolina |

Do you really see Cousins playing center on any of the Flyers top 3 lines any time soon? I don't, that's why I'd rather see them at least experiment with moving him to wing. - BiggE
I think his nhl future at center is dimming and a switch to wing would be in his best interest. But if I'm not mistaken his comfortable wing is right wing? |

Could well be, I just think LW is his best bet if he wants to play for the Flyers.

I think Vancouver even with their moves is a better team than you have them. I don't think the kings are as good as you have them or Columbus. I think Washington has a very very good chance at winning the division and I do think we're worse than you have us. My biggest concern is I haven't seen giroux get consistent separation in almost 2 years. If he can't figure that out I'm worried about what his 5 on 5 play looks like. |

Bill (if you're still here), how is Cousins viewed around the NHL? I know that's a broad question, but is he seen as a legit top-9 prospect, or a 4th line/AHL tweener? |

Fair enough. You may very well be right. It's really hard to predict these things, and , like I said earlier, injuries will factor in quite a bit.

I think our need at left wing is a bit over exaggerated. Raffl is line 1.
Gagner Schenn read umberger white vv can all play left wing.
I see our biggest need at left wing is a consistent 2nd line role. Which could be b Schenn or Gagner or of they truly can't play that role than we need a 2nd line left wing for the future. Now don't get me wrong it's not an organizational strength but I don't think we are as far off as we think. I think a legit sniper at any position would do us more good than a 2nd line left wing anyway |

Hard to take a team from playoff team to one in the bottom 4 in the league just because of one trade of a third line forward and a goaltender. They still have a pretty good regular season one in miller |

It's just a hunch, but I think Miller takes a big step backwards this year. He seemed like he was done by the end of last season.

Wouldn't doubt it. I don't think they are a playoff team but hard for me to put them in the bottom 4. I think we are as likely to be a bottom 5 team as we are a playoff team.
And like you said injuries make the world go round. Say one our guys gets an extensive injury we may be competing for Matthew's |

I definitely see Columbus being more of a middle tier team in this division, along with the Flyers. They have good parts, but they'll really have to fight to displace any of those four teams from playoffs spots. |
