Whats wrong with keeping both virtanen and mcann around? In my world.. they would alternate as the 13th forward occasionally both in the pressbox using up both their 9 games. This would allow them to learn how to be pros from the vets. Not much left learning in junior for these guys.

By the time December rolls around, let them go to the Worlds .. You can make a much better evaluation of talent with a couple months into the season (Vey, Higgins) then make a decision who should stick and who should go by then. If anybody does head back to jr.. they would have a huge jump in their development for the remainder of the season better prepping them for the nhl next year.

Gudreau Monahan Bennett . Which one is the old guy?
- VANTEL

Ummm, this wasn't a line last yr. Hudler was on that line not Bennett.

If either JV or JMac are the 13th forward, they need to be in Jr. They need to play regularly to develop

I think even if you asked the players they would prefer to be playing full time in JR.over sitting in the pressbox

This is the first training camp in years where I haven't woken up looking to see if Canucks are involved in a trade. I am more concerned of who we have and not interested in who we can get.

I do hope we do clear one or two more contracts to make room for the young guys to have a spot. It is the first camp I am not looking outside to improve our team.

Good job Canucks., we are getting there.

They will not be kept around as 13th forward. But they may not play every game either. Depending on how they play and practice they could play their nine games over a 15 to 20 game period. If they seem over matched early, probably sent back before nine.

Bartowski looks ok . I think Benning will re-sign him

Your top 4 for the next few foreseeable years Edler Hutton Bartowski and Tanev. That is not horrible

- VANTEL

Bartkowski has looked more than ok. His skating and movement out of the defensive zone have been 'real good' and can bring the puck into the offensive zone with speed. decent first passer. Other than Hutton, Bartkowski has stood out over our top 4 D when it comes to moving the puck out of the defensive zone. If there is no first pass he has the speed and smoothness to just skate it out...where we don't see much of that from our top 4...well...maybe Sbizza...

I honestly don't see JV or JM being outplayed by Burrows higgins Hansen Prust Dorsett vey or Sven

( notice how I used small letters for vey )

It is exciting to have youth in the system making waves and not having to sit around waiting for the next Gillis 'Stanley Cup Run' trade...

I could see Sven getting his offensive numbers up but we for sure know what we are getting from the rest. I liked Vey's potential a bit last year but it's becoming clear that the western game might not be for him.

The only trades I'm looking forward to are ones that get more picks. The next few pre-seasons could see Shinks, Cassels, Boeser, the Russian guy, and picks from 2016 and others competing. More picks please.

40 points last yr. But a combined -66 over 3 seasons. He might be a better defensive version of Schultz

He was underage and I heard his team was terrible. That's what they said at the draft.

Btw , I would take Schultz on the canucks

Neil started at 16 yrs old. Benning explained all of that when he drafted him . He said he was a gem in a pile of poop
