It was the Oilers
I was more impressed with the SJ game - VANTEL
Me too they showed they can compete. I just like seeing them score.

I have no idea why they sent Nurse to AHL . He could have passed the puck to our forwards alone in front of the net as well as Sekera |

I don't think he is ready. Nurse will be excellent player in the league one day. Oilers management has made the mistake of rushing players into the line up to soon. Not every defender is going to be Ekblad or Jones. |

Fayne and Klefbom not in the lineup really hurt them. |

If Vey/Weber can stay alive in the NHL without getting physically ground out of a career, then the smarter, grittier and bigger McCann certainly can. |

That kid line looked great but I have doubts we see them yet in the big show.
I doubt this training camp changed any of the starting lineups but it certainly opened mgmt's eyes to what might be.
I don't like it but I imagine we see.
Sedin Sedin Vrbata
Baertschi Sutter Burrows
Gaunce/Higgins Horvat Hansen
Prust/Virtanen Vey Dorsett.
Edler Tanev
Hamhuis Weber
Barkowski Weber
Corrado
McCann to JR's
Hutton, Gaunce to Utica once Higgins returns. |

You were right the other day when talking about PG being a cesspool. There are positives here but the negatives outweigh them. When I sit back and think about all the $hit I have been through in this town i have to wonder what the fuc) am I still doing here? |

I think Weber has value. His skill set will keep him a job in the NHL. |

Agreed.
Except we didn't trade for Shea and if we did he'd play ahead of my boy Tanev
Unless you're suggesting a trade for Mike |

Love the area but the town has really gone down hill since the mid 80's.
It isn't alone in that respect though as many places I used to enjoy have changed to something more resembling what sticks to the bottom of my shoe.
I blame the softwood lumber agreement still for a lot of the change, although that agreement has changed a lot now since it was originally set in place. |

Hutton might make it, but I think McCann has a decent chance of being sent down. |

JV should make the team unless the plan is a soft Euro team again that runs |

With Higgins out, I'm guessing he'll get some games and then they'll go from there. |

esp since it seems that management had him in mind when they parted with zak and mathias. For a team needing size and power they had to have a plan in hand when letting those guys go. JV sticks I say. |

Well I will be truthful I will be so Effie glad when these guys over 31 start slowing down so we can move on from a slow lazy country club team to a younger faster youth turnaround |

I'm starting to lean that way too. I want the team to win the cup. This team won't, so I want to see the next generation. I believe that for the most part players need to develop in jr and AHL. But if some are mature and strong enough and playing well enough then they should get a chance in the NHL. I think McCann and Virtanen have shown enough to get some regular season games. They don't have to play every game and if it doesn't work out, then back to jr. The next generation needs to fill a few spots each year. |

Not only that but I find them way more interesting to watch. I was waiting for the Prust/Doresett line to get off when they moved McCann with Sutter. Part of last night's excitement for me was that one of: Hutton, JV, Horvat, Beargee were minutes away from getting on the ice and I was looking forward to seeing something fresh |

I think everyone is waiting for that. Have an old, non-contending team is about as boring as it gets in sports. |

Exactly how I felt. When the Prust line came on, I could go to the fridge. |

Exactly, it isnt like they would be rushing/forcing a 140lb player into the lineup. These are kids a year removed from being drafted and have been through camps before and shown so far this year they can play at an NHL level, even if just for a short duration. Get them in |
