Count on Gaunce and Kenins going down.
Likely will waive Cracknell and Biega with the expectation that they make it through.
I suspect they want Higgins on opening lineup (cap reasons) so Hutton will likely go down only to return when Higgins hits LTIR.
Buys them time to see if Vey manages to get his act together and how Mccann and Virt work out

- Lostinarink

Exactly my thoughts.

Also, I was hoping for Scotty walker to be an assistant coach last yr. Still great to get him

Exactly, it isnt like they would be rushing/forcing a 140lb player into the lineup. These are kids a year removed from being drafted and have been through camps before and shown so far this year they can play at an NHL level, even if just for a short duration. Get them in
- WhiteLie

Most kids now a days train 12 months round. They have been playing since the age of 6 and most have never smoked. It is not like the old days. Each year kids are that much more advanced.

It is ridiculous to parade all this talent and take it away to it with Higgins Vey Weber.

There will be so many pissed fans .

I liked the hiring of WD because I was under the impression he
Inked a youth movement. If he is the one screaming no then bring in a coach that knows how to deal with youth.

They were an exciting team to watch last season. You and Vantel can't deny that.

I have always said they were a very good regular season team , you can't deny that.

You were right the other day when talking about PG being a cesspool. There are positives here but the negatives outweigh them. When I sit back and think about all the $hit I have been through in this town i have to wonder what the fuc) am I still doing here?
- thundachunk

I love Quesnel just an hour and 15 min south. I hear what you are saying about PG... it just happens to be in a great region though... so, I love this area... just shake my head at how bad things have become in just a 82k population in PG. Williams lake is pretty bad as well.. higher crime rate even. 25k people... what the (frank) is going on there... even the cops are crooked in that little town.

I was a big Willie fan. Given his fairly recent work in jr, I thought he would be a "real good" guy for the youth. I was surprised he had such an issue with Horvat being on the team. Considering how wrong he was with Bo, you'd think he'd be more open.

Calgary had no problem having Monahan, Gaudreau and Bennett in their top 6 against Vancouver last year. If they have earned a spot they should get the opportunity. Benning has said on multiple occasions that if players earn a spot he will make room but I don't think Willie is on the same page.

Exactly. He will work himself out of a job quickly if he doesn't favour youth. That is all he will be seeing for the next few years. The sooner he accepts it the better.

It is a good thing Benning has final say.

JV is a typical JB meat and potatos guy and so is Bartowski. WD needs to just coach who he is handed and leave the roster choice to the GM

Thing is I believe Calgary's integration of youth made them a much better team last year and Hartley looked like a better coach.

I agree . Col. and Fla are other teams relying on youth to make them better. Sign of the times

Last two coaches of the year were those with young teams. Willie's agent should remind him of that.

I don't think there is any evidence of this...and to be fair, Bo didn't show much early on last year. Time will tell though and if Mcann and JV don't make the team it will be pretty disappointing

Let's hope so...it's funny that everyone thought his ceiling was a 2 C a year ago. Looks like a future 1 C and team captain right now

Horvat really wants to produce offense. You can tell he doesnt want to be pigeon holed as a defensive player... he has so much more to give.

At least we were wrong in a good way . If we overvalued we would be panicking. When you undervalue then it brings elation, like when Nucker seen that Kesler picture where he was posing nude.
