Maata didn't play his draft year. Though making the team at 19 as a defenseman is probably more impressive than an 18 year old forward making t.
Regardless he's doubtful to be significantly better than our 12 forward especially in a fourth line rule where defense responsibilities matter. Might also cause us some pk issues using a bottom 6 spot in him.
I would do what we can to preserve his elc and have him available for the playoffs. He probably is one of our top 15 forwards and you never know what injuries will occur. |

Crying.... I'm ecstatic! WOOOOOOO!!!!!! Gonchar cut! Was really worried he'd get a spot for simply being a good guy in the locker room. |

Scuderi still has hope - Reverend Killtaker
No, I think the correct statement is Scuderi still has a 3.325 million dollar contract. |

I tolerate Farnham for 1 reason... A stat RW even showed himself before he started to hate Bobby... drawn penalties. It was 3 or 4 times the average bottom 6 player's average.
If you are gonna play just slightly better than Sill, Adams, or Glass (Even Bobby's not that bad guys), but can draw penalties... I'll tolerate you. |

I'm in that same camp. In his brief appearances, he draws a bunch of penalties. He must really piss people off. He'd be playing for me in every Flyer game.
Intensity and passion is a theme for HCMJ. You hear him asking for more of it from guys like Perron and Pouliot. It's basically Farnham's best asset. |

In all seriousness and honesty, I agree. He's a niche player who can serve a purpose and be productive to an extent. I wouldn't use him as an everyday player unless he shows something and I wouldn't want him to occupy a roster spot just for the sake of doing so over a more deserving player. |

96 career games 10 goals, 23 assists ... that is Beau Bennett. He has shown nothing to warrant anything. He has teased us before with good preseasons only to fail in the regular season. - Oneonta Penguin
Yeah but he is bigger, healthier, and has better linemates now. Not saying he deserves a total free pass, but there a lot of real, tangible reasons to think that current Beau will be a lot better than past Beau. |

Yeah and if you put him on a line with Cullen and Sprong he immediately drags them down. Pens will never have a quality 4th line if they put non-NHL caliber players on it. |

Don't they have to cut two more guys? Fehr will be place on LTIR, so one more guy. Kuhnhackl probably. I guess Erixon is making the squad by default after Pouliot was sent down. |

They can use him for the PK absorbing shots and keep him on the bench otherwise.
Surprised on Erixon. He's a throw in for the Kessel trade and didn't look good to me in preseason. |

Very, very happy with the keep of Sprong. The kid deserved it. From the very first game he was electric.
Not happy though with GMJR's most recent comments saying Scuderi has made it into the top six. Not that Dumo or Erixon have shown a lot, but come on. Hopefully we will at least see
Maatta - Letang
Cole - Clendening
Scuderi/Dumo - Lovejoy |

He was in a tough spot. Required waivers to be sent down and with Pouliot not showing a lot, it was easier just to send him down. Basically made the team by default. |

Lovejoy and Suderi cannot play in the same lineup. I mean, one of those two has to sit on a nightly basis. Right? |

Doubt anyone is taking Erixon off of waivers. Dumoulin or Clendening sure. Not really a bad decision just a curious one. We'll see what he's got I guess. |

Ruth's quotes on Sprong...
On Sprong being kept all season: “I’m not even looking that far ahead. He’s earned a spot with the team. He’s quite a player. I expect him to be in the lineup in Dallas.”
On Sprong’s rapid development: “Anytime a guy comes out of his draft year and does something like this – it’s like Olli Maatta, almost – that’s exceptional. He’s played very well.” |

If we redid the draft today where would sprong get taken? Good draft class. I would guess around 15. |

They didwas going to the LTIR list, which I will assume is Fehr. That means they still have 24 players on the rosters, and I believe you can only carry 23 right? You can only have 21 position players though? I can't remember the limit. I wonder what other moves will happen, 8 dmen, 2 goalies, that leaves 13 forwards. I wonder what they are doing with Tom Kuhnhackl, I haven't read about that yet. |

man, my phone butchered the first part of that lol I didn't hear about Kuhn, I knew about Fehr. It makes sense then. I still don't like the 8 dmen, would rather it be 7, with it being a set rotation. I really hope they are keeping 8, in hopes of making a trade. |
