Fair enough, but he's a hell of a lot more entertaining to watch than more than half the roster. Out of all the nice goals the Canucks scored last year, he had like every 2nd one. - Nucker101
I agree but , half our roster is boring as crap . You are not telling me anything new. That is why change is needed. |

Every game so far Hutton has been the most offensive D man , creating chances. he doesn't look out of place at all. He makes a few mistakes same as every other one of our Dmen this preseason . he has stood out most games.
MCann has scored in half the games he plays in , creates about 3-4 excellent scoring chances every game.
JV has the most hits on the team. Creates scoring chances and produces points.
People on here saying send them down need to give their head a shake. Their replacements are Linden Vey Chris Higgins and Weber. You seriously want to send them down to watch this crap for 82 games - VANTEL
I certainly haven't watched all the preseason games, but last night I thought Cracknel was terrible, worse than I remember Vey from last year. As for the rookies they deserve a chance.
But the preseason is over, and if last nights team is what we have going forward, I can see a top 6 pick in the near future.

I honestly do see Vrbata as a diva. I don't think he will be near the productiveness as last year. I think his best has past as a Canuck - VANTEL
Agreed. If the plan is to flip him at the TDL, I would rather do it before he starts pouting and hurting his trade value. |

Last nights game was hard on the eyes.
My theory is the vets slowed the game down. The two last games were higher energy , faster speed. I think Cracknel has been very decent up to last night. I was not impressed with anyone on the team last night aside from Miller |

They did look slow, and I agree, Miller came to play he looked zoned in. The teams going to need him to steal games with this defense in front of him. |

who's trolling?
I was just saying I think Virt fits in more at the moment, and out of the young guys out there now I don't think Baertschi is one of the ones that did look that good.
Nothing to do with the trade. Just not seeing him any better this year then before.
Rather see a line of horvat/Virt banging away and making other teams skate this year. But you're pretty numb from watching the Sedins pass the puck around I guess, so get your apprehension. - numbear
Sven stepped it up in the last 2 games and has shown great chemistry with Horvat. Horvat has been pretty vocal about liking Sven on his wing as well.... |

To me, him and Lack are comparable seeing he is in the twilight years. My only concern ever was the cap space, but now with kids filling roster spots cap space becomes less of an issue. I give the reliability nod to Miller over Lack. It is looking like Benning made the right choice again |

and for being weird ...THIS is HOCKEYBUZZ ! pot and kettle me thinks
i'll give you that i am a fan who CHOOSES to believe and HOPE rather then fall for the doom and gloom that so many on here subscribe to, we get in the playoffs we have a chance to win , Simple!! our team can come together and rise above the challenges we face, but only if FANS believe! hold on to hope , believe we WILL win and there is a chance !
when Roger raised the flag we were beat and yet we rallied, it is the determined underdog mentality that will help us overcome. - onesmallleap

Cracknall and biega - Bieksa#3
Biega for sure. I think they'll send down Hutton too. They'll want to have a longer look at McCann and Virtanen and they can send Hutton down without losing him. Plus the left side is pretty decent with Edler, Hamhuis, and Sbisa. I like Hutton over Sbisa, but Sbisa is literally the only guy on the team that brings any physical play.
Once they make a decision with McCann and Virtanen I think you'll see Hutton brought back up.
Benning is going to have to move one of Vey or Higgins... I don't see them fitting in on this team. |

LOL at Prust being a good skater though, good one - Nucker101

I'm not ready to lose Corrado on waivers yet... and Vey to a little degree because I think JB could probably swindle a 3rd or 4th for him... but I definitely think it's time to move on from Vey.
I'd love to see our three top kids in the line up right away though. Both forwards should get 9 and decide from there.

There's ZERO chance a team trades a 3rd or 4th for Vey. Why do that when you could've had a young guy like Max Friberg for free? Who is much better suited to play in a bottom 6 role.
You guys are way too concerned about waivers, look at last year's waivers. Almost everyone clears, even the semi-surprising waived players. At this time of the year it's impossible to trade a fringe player for anything decent. |
