Vrbata too
- VANTEL

I think Hamhuis will be dealt... Canucks look fine with options on the left hand side that include Edler, Sbisa, Hutton and bartowski if we keep him going forward.

Love Hammer, but his game is regressing, but I still think we could get a huge return for him come TDL time...... I doubt it happens though... canucks will probably be in a playoff hunt and would be hesitant to move a top 4 guy.

Hodgson sucks

Not a complete player sure, but he can produce offense as good as anyone on our team not named Sedin.

There's ZERO chance a team trades a 3rd or 4th for Vey. Why do that when you could've had a young guy like Max Friberg for free? Who is much better suited to play in a bottom 6 role.

You guys are way too concerned about waivers, look at last year's waivers. Almost everyone clears, even the semi-surprising waived players. At this time of the year it's impossible to trade a fringe player for anything decent.

I wouldnt cry if we lost Vey anyways. I'm just hoping for some asset recovery.

You'd be the first to call JB an idiot for putting them on waivers if they were lost. Talk to the hand....

Not really, I'd actually feel better about Benning if he admitted his mistakes with guys like Vey and Sbisa. They're already both failures in my mind, waiving them doesn't suddenly solidify that in my mind.

Funny how people care about assets all of a sudden after suggesting that Benning overpaying in trades/contracts doesn't matter in the big picture.

He's not offensively better than Vrbata/Horvat/Barrtschi. He got spoon fed cupcake minutes under AV/Gillis here. Plenty of offensive zone starts against weaker lines while playing on a stacked team. A lot of us were emotionally attached to him(including myself), but it's clear they were planning to flip him. It's too bad that they targeted a guy with some serious issues.

yes and I also think WD, trevor and JB need to stop trying to reconstruct WD's old junior team too. This is the NHL not junior. I'm sure Vey was great in Junior etc but he sure stinks in NHL. We need NHL level guys.

I think with Hamhuis having that ntc, he will only waives at tdl and might be a bit picky on destinations too.

I think with Hutton's showing, JB might have to rethink his left side, unless Hutton or someone moves over to the right.

Vantel's earlier summation on the offensive contributions of the kids really indicates the excitement with having these prospects potentially making the club.

So with all that being said, with the addition of McCann and Virtanen to the roster, and potentially Hutton seeing time on the blue line this season, if we were a fringe playoff team before these additions, are we still in the same spot?

Two warriors for the Canucks are Burrows and Hamhuis, but it is close to the end. So far you can see the foot speed diminish. If we want to get better we need to say goodbye and thanks, but it is time for the next generation Canucks

You expect him to already have called a press conference to declare Vey is a mistake.

Get real.

My thought's on last night's game, the kids, and your chance to weigh in on the end-of-preseason poll, in the new blog:

I think our D isn't ready for the loss of hamhius. He is a solid defender, who would fill that role?

Burrows I think is still very useful in several ways. I think it'd be a step backwards. It amazes me that people want both him and Vrbata gone, both of our only guys who have been shown to play well with sedins.

You left the two relative productive seasons he had in Buffalo. Top 2 in scoring there... more points than most of our bottom 9 in those seasons... on that poopty team. Those were spoon fed minutes you are saying?

Why don't you take an honest look at other rookie players first seasons before you make that declaration.

Vey is not a bottom six player. He doesnt fit here in the top 6 in current situation with the players we have coming up either. He did pretty good last season for a rookie. He may just fit in somewhere else that doent need to stick him on the 4rth line.

JB really pulled the trigger too quick on Sbisa. I don't think he expected this emergence from Hutton. Edler with his NTC...

I guess Hutton could play the right side. Tanev is here to stay. They signed Weber for his pp work. Bartkowski for his skating and passing.

Someone is on the way out at tdl or before...

decisions, decisions.
