Yeah I liked the first two picks a lot. Didn't know much about the late round guys but Neill is off to a nice start.
Still think the rich got richer since I loved the Jets and Isles drafts. Flames and Leafs also got good value. - Nucker101
I am happy with Bennings selections over the two years. I really like the potential of this team |

I bought an 11.99 bottle of Malbec today when there was a perfectly good bottle for 7.99 right beside it. I feel so materialistic - VANTEL
I'm having the velvet devil Merlot tonight. Washington wine, quite nice for the price ($26). |

I sure think McJezus gets a lot of press for a player that has done little at this level. I wonder how long it takes his teammates to get tired of it |

Yeah, but I thought those teams did well from rounds 1-7. They took a lot of guys who a lot of "prospect followers" thought highly of. |

I don't think they'll mind when they realize he's a legit franchise player that will win them more games. The core has no right to be pissed at anything |

It might be a bit cheaper, the whole pricing system on wine has screwed me up. A bottle that used to be 21.99 without tax is now 19.99 before tax and 23.99 after tax. |

I'm not sure about that. They were talking about putting Gazdic on his line for protection. Really?
I think they will lose more games retaliating and taking penalties.
I can't wait for Hall to start complaining |

Whether it is 19.99 or 21.99 it is out of my range until you remove that 1 |

If memory serves the 2009 vintages were maturing at the time and the '09 Meritage from Burrowing Owl was outstanding. The '08 Cab Sauv and the 2010 Cab Franc from Burrowing Owl deserve mention too. Super expensive here in AB but I bought quite a bit in BC. Stoneboat and Fairview had some excellent Pinot Noirs at the time but the value buy (for me) was the Nk'Mip Cellars Merlot 2009. Something about that year and it stood out. Cheap grape yes I know but that crop yield and vintage was exceptional IMO. Jackson Triggs also grew Shiraz in that region and around 2006 vintage (I think) they beat out a whole whack of top end Australian Shiraz' that really never lose the awards. I snagged 3 bottles to share with my Mom (before she passed) and it's funny the memories that surround those 3 bottles of wine. I was actually extremely lucky to come across them. I was visiting on Van Island at the time and was reading the article on the Westjet flyer how this local wine was winning all these awards...low and behold I get off the plane in Comox and hit a liquor store in Courtenay and they had three bottles of it...bought 'em all. - LordHumungous
Burrowing Owl is usually pretty solid, but we were really disappointed this year. Hopefully it was just a bad vintage. Beautiful winery though.
I don't know what it is, but wine's great for creating memories. Maybe because with beer you're usually drinking it while you do/watch something else, and hard bar is a fine line between being social and hitting on your friend's wife, but often the wine itself is the focus. Glad you got some with your mom while she was still here.

That's a nice one. Really smooth for a merlot. Try the Petit Petit, from northern Napa, red circus label. It's $21.99 I think, one of my go to bottles. |
