i didnt catch the bottom caption until now. Sometimes when i watch the sabres, im more amazed at how long they play until a whistle or commercial than i am about the actual game. Much more entertainment in hockey IMO

NHL players are skating at a faster rate than NFL players run.

Pretty basic if you ask me and something I've said for many years.

The truth of the matter is, the NFL is going in a direction where they're protecting their players so much that it has greatly watered down the entertainment value. There have been too many stories publicized such as Junior Seau or Darryl Talley to not question the players health after retirement. I understand why its getting the way it is but there needs to be a happy medium or people just arent going to watch anymore. This is of course only concerning the flags. The commericals are a different story. The NHL has stuck to its roots for the most part, minus upgrading equipment and what not.

Do you have seasons this year? Just curious to see how excited you are for the opener. Im flying in on Saturday and im going to purchase some tickets for the game on monday i believe.

Im starting to watch the black knights instead. College ball is becoming more fun for me to watch. I just wish i had the heart into that i have for the bills/sabres.

I personally think the NHL has become a snooze fest. I mean come on low scoring and trap games are not very fun to watch. 87 points led the NHL. thats pathetic. I find myself watching non bills games way more than i do no sabres games.

Rex Ryan said he doesn't see a problem with the penalties.

I have definitely noticed that, but at the same time, other than Bills away games I don't watch a ton of other football other than highlights, so idk how much is actually the surface at the Ralph, or how much it is that guys have trouble with their footing on field turf, as opposed to grass.

Everyone slept in.

I had to step away from the sword-swallowing that was on the boards in the hours after the game on thursday. The team played two (admittedly) awful periods in a preseason game. So what? This is brand new team with new players and a new coach. I expect the next few weeks to be somewhat similar to that game.

D was actually quite decent in the 2nd half. Bad missed tackle.but nyg did very little else. They're killing themselves with stupid penalties. Didnt like first half play calling either nor the play calling on the goal to goal series.

Well, my faith in Greg Roman went down a notch yesterday.
I am shocked at the poor play by our defense...and as a whole the number of penalties...no matter what Rex says about the "fight" in his team...better learn how to fight better...2 decent teams and two loses...2 teams revealing they aren't very good..two wins. It is beginning to look like an 8 and 8 season.

Players are also involved in hits at a lesser rate in the NHL than in the NFL. It evens out.

Listen, I love hockey and have played it and still play it, but the I never understood the "holier than thou" attitude that a lot of hockey players take. Although, I have to say, it's usually only from the players that hockey is the only sport they play.
