I'm waiting for you guys to do best goaltender so JJ can put Corey Crawford at #1.

Joking aside, I actually agree with all of JJ's lists for the most part. I'd be interested to see his wingers list, as apparently he has a temper tantrum and doesn't submit one if a Chicago player isn't #1 at that position.

- tkecanuck341

Oh for f---'s sake, LOL.I know you're joking but . . . No, I just have a life to live on occasion. My top wingers probably would have been Stamkos, Jamie Benn (both of whom I see as wingers), Perry, a few others.

Cheers.

Does Keith play against opposition teams top lines yet? I don't think anyone else controls the game like Doughty does regardless of who he is playing against or paired with.
- bluecoconuts

Yet? He has for 6 years. Doughty didn't look real good this past season regardless of who he played with and against.

Doughty doesn't have a Norris due to the east coast biased people.

More 1st place votes last year and got snubbed by the HOF Lidstrom in his sophomore year. IMO Doughty should have 2 right now or at least 1.

- KINGS67

Explain how this bias works when Keith who plays in the West, has won two. Doughty should have won and will win the Norris one day. And when he does he too will be a lock for the HHOF.

Letang IS NOT TOP 5... but he's as good or better offensively then Karlson when healthy.... comparing Karlson to Mario is a joke...

KEITH IS THE BEST... I love Doughty, Weber and Hedman... Don't get the hate on Keith???? A Norris and a Con Smyth!!!!

- Brianandr1

For that to be true, wouldn't he ave to equal or surpass Karlsson's best point totals at least once? And that's with Crosby and co.

Agreed on Keith though.

I had the same though, but it's alot easier for me living in Ottawa to catch a hawks game than a kings game.

Hey Jero, it's an easy argument to support. I know you watched the playoffs this Spring.
- John Jaeckel

I like Keith quite a bit....he was awesome this spring....and I'm not surprised you took him. Mellow out and have a little sense of haw-haw....you Hawks fans are a wee bit uptight for just having won a 3rd Stanley Cup in 6 years, which passes as a dynasty by today's watered down standards. So put a shot of Bailey's in your coffee and turn that frown, upside down.

Chicago is a lot closer geographically to the other big eastern hockey towns, writers see more Hawks games...not that hard to figure out.

Doughty's a great defenseman. For my Canadian Olympic Team, he and Keith would be top pair.

I just don't see how it's an either or, or why some of these Kings fans seem to want to diss Keith.

Keith did something these last playoffs that I don't think any other defenseman in the league could do. The number of minutes he played, and played amazingly well, and the pressure minutes he played, was amazing.

Sure, Keith has a couple of relative "flaws"(?) that I mention in the blog, but he is such a gifted athlete (and I am not just throwing hyperbole around with that), he does what is impossible for others. Endurance, VO2 max, etc.

I also think we saw, especially in the Minnesota series, how dominant he can be WITH the puck, and he can take his game to that level at will.

Sure, I see Keith 80-90 games a year, but that also takes nothing away from how great Doughty and Weber are, or guys on the rise like Hedman and Josi.

Karlsson is great don't get me wrong... But comparing him to MARIO... sorry NO!... As far as Letang Look at the numbers last year... Letang was 10 points ahead of Karlsson when he got hurt (Giordano was to btw)... The kid can't stay healthy!! That's the way it goes sometimes... Two years ago it was a stroke, last year concussions... it is what it is

Mario was a rather extreme comment to make.

But until Letang demonstrates he can put up Karlsson like numbers in a full season, Karlsson will always be considered the better offensive player.

Your readership consists of the most humourless sour pusses on HockeyBuzz tho...you need to throw a few Richard and fart jokes in your blogs to cheer that place up.

Karlsson will win his third Norris this year and finish in the top 10 in scoring. If the Sens finish near the top of the standings Karlsson will be in the mix for MVP. A remarkable talent.

Ya, we've had to kinda clamp down on some things because there was some ugliness a year or two ago. It's funny also because it is a very divided fan base. Just look at the Kane issue, and I do think some of that is due to the "new" post 2007 fans seeing things differently than the old timers. So we have "arguments" and sometimes over minutia. Meh. Good fans for the most part.

He doesn't understand that too foamy latte makes Maloney all farty and bloated. So no Norris for him.

This comment I can respect... That being said Letang is an amazing offensive d man... solid and underrated in his own end (as is Karlsson btw)

I'm sorry but I really don't get the OEL love. He's a great young defenseman but he had like 40 points and a minus 18
- QuickSCF

Well, he had almost no chance to get assists beceause his team never scored, but he still managed 23 goals. Plus / Minus stats are useless, but his possession stats are strong, especially when you consider he has some of the hardest minutes in the NHL and his defense partners were wither Michalek or Stone, i.e not a second top pairing player.

No one compared him to Mario. What I said was that he's so far ahead of the second place guy it's like when Mario played in the late 90s. Or if that isn't a direct quote, that's what I meant......but even if Letang does put up numbers similar to Karlsson, he's doing it on a team with Malkin and Crosby vs one with Ryan and Turris.

I have no issue with those who rank Karlsson 1 and Letang 2.... and yes he plays with Malkin/Crosby... that being said Letang is as talented an offensive d man as there is... watch more Pens games!
