Keith played A LOT with guys like Kimmo Timonen and Michal Rozsival on his way to the Conn Smythe trophy. Which were tough minutes all the way. Just saying.

I wasn't actually addressing you in any way. I actually had Keith above Karlsson on my list, but have you seen Chris Philips the past couple years?

BTW - Rozsival averaged 17min/g in the regular season and playoffs. Those are not top pairing 'tough minutes'. Timonen averaged 12Min/game in the regular season and less than 9 min/game in the playoffs. Chris Philips was playing over 20 mins/game primarily with Karlsson while Methot was hurt. The comparison you are making is NOT apt.

Does Keith play against opposition teams top lines yet? I don't think anyone else controls the game like Doughty does regardless of who he is playing against or paired with.

Do you watch hockey???....he plays 30 minutes a freakin game. He plays against the top line, the 2nd line and any other line. Damn, you can't be serious with such a statement. Trolling way toooo hard dude!!!

By the way, Keith may have won his Norrises for big point totals because regrettably, that factors more than it should in the Norris voting these days, but he is a premier defender first.

My point is, the "he's won two Norrises" argument only matters if you think all a d-man should do is amass points. Because that's how the voters lean. Absolutely.

Remember when Mike Green was a "great" defenseman?

I think Karlsson is a very good defender, but no, I don't think he is as good defensively as the guys ahead of him on my list. Sue me.

Dumb comparison, even in his prime Green couldn't touch Karlsson. My list is Doughty, Keith, Karlsson, Weber, Giordano. Karlsson isn't even my number one, but to not have him top 5 makes you look dense. You're reaching on the this one pal.

Green was always just okay at defense, which is backed up by the numbers. His shot suppression during his hey days was not good. Karlsson, even in his worst years, put up better offensive and defensive numbers than Green. Green was also fueled by a ton of PP points.
