And that's where he's made his mistakes. I can understand trading for players you're high on but you have to align salary with skill, not potential. Only way to measure skill is look at past performances. Some contracts Benning's given out are not justified based on past performance.

I think we are all getting a little of what we asked. He's playing the youth while maintaining a vet core. I think Benning has made some rookie GM mistakes but as a whole he's starting the season with a roster that everyone can find positives about.

Do they have the cap space for Gaunce because Higgins cap hit counts unless they LTIR him.

I read today there was speculation they wouldnt/couldnt put Higgins on LTIR as he might not be injured enough to be on it. He would have to be out 24 days or 10 games (I think) but with him getting a head start on healing the bone int he preseason they dont expect him to be eligible
