I think we should all complain some more here about Benning getting fleeced.

Otherwise this summer was a complete waste of time.

@BradZiemer: Kassian enters Stage 2 of NHL/NHLPA substance abuse/behavioral health program. Assume that means he went thru Stage 1 while with #Canucks.

And this is why the Kassian trade looked bad when it went down. GMs knew well about his problems. We really don't know everything. Maybe Benning doesn't just randomly add picks to deals. Now what was the issue with Bonino?

- bazz

Sad to hear and see, he's likely never going to be an NHL player now, I believe I read that players that enter past Stage 1 SA/BH never get any better because their problems are just too difficult to fix and the players themselves want to play therefore rendering the treatment useless.

Sorry. So you can sub Hutton at $896,000 cap hit for Bartkowski at $1,750,000 or Weber at $1,500,000. Which one?
- bloatedmosquito

So you're assuming Hutton gets all his bonua' to reach his 900k cap hit. One of which is probably the calder

I'm not sad to hear or see it. It is unfortunate yes but people make there own decisions and therefore are responsible for there actions. I have no sympathy for abusers. I have first hand experience. Too much really.

Ok. Because from what I'm reading on Twitter, the Canucks put Duncan Keith on waivers today.

And unlike Kassian, Prust could be flipped for a pick at TDL, 3rd or 4th depending on how he plays and whats being sold at the time.
- Retinalz

Not if he plays like he did in preseason

Giving him credit for identifying that Kassian was a personnel issues has nothing to do with his trading ability. Until Prust proves he is a worth the loss of a pick and the salary he receives, it's hard to call the trade a success.

If I realize my sandwich is moldy and trade it to a coworker for his spot in line to buy an overpriced salad that doesn't fill me up and I give away a 5 dollar bill to the homeless guy while I'm waiting in line to get my salad, does that make me a good negotiator?

Didn't Yeti tell him that if he ever even came into our thread, he'd ban him for a yr?
- Bieksa#3

Pretty sure Yeti barely posts here these days. He had to quit the fantasy league because he recently got married and has a full-time job.

Yup, you can pre-rank if you go under the "draft" tab. No point in pre-ranking the keepers so just look for the guys you want that re actually available and move them up to the top of your list.

List of available players was emailed out, but you can also just look at the free agent list.

Does Kassian's cap hit still count against Montreal's cap while suspended?

That is interesting how it works, penalizing the team with his salary counting against the cap and hurts Kassian's wallet.

Hope he get's his act together. Turns out JB made the best out of a challenging situation.
