Come on man. Vote for who you want, but just because someone goes another way that doesn't make them idiotic or uniformed.

Clearly you have no idea and have not done your research.

Depends. Can you click on a "draft" button and do you complain much?
- Nucker101

As long as the draft button is clearly marked I'd have no complaints.

I paid over 90 thousand (frank)ing dollars in income tax last year, I've had ENOUGH with taxation so others can cash free cheques on me!!!!

I actually hinted to my boss I'd take a buyout if the money was right, so last week they bought me out....retired before 50

As I see it Harper has already done way too much damage. He lies, cheats and steals, sells off the natural resources, muzzles the scientists and strangles the average person to allow big business to save itself money.

Whoever gets it next could do less harm through sheer apathy then he has deliberately done.

- lumlums

Anyone who thinks Harper is good for the Economy hasn't been paying attention the past 10 years.

6 straight years of deficits and $612 billion in debt speak a lot louder than Harper's spin.

But wait pay attention to the two women a year who want to wear a Niqāb.....

Lefty, you're a guy who has clearly done well for himself in life... decent job etc etc... but there are way too many people who do not have that luxury who have been downtrodden by the Conservative policies... and I'm relatively conservative myself! I'd happily vote for them if - but only if - they were to put somebody responsible up for election. This is why they got destroyed in AB; too many lies, too many unexplained expenses, too long serving themselves and not the people.

EDIT: I don;t really like Trudeau or Mulclair either, but right now we're approaching "fool me four times" and that's just too many.

I am not a Harper fan but I am very much against socialism. That is what the other parties propose. Socialism doesn't work. Its like trying to pick up a bucket full of water that you are standing in.

That's pretty much saying that right and wrong don't really matter.

People who vote for Harper are successful. Those who vote for anyone else are unemployed bums, the homeless and those who make minimum wage. These individuals expect by voting for anyone but Harper that somehow their lives will drastically change for the better.

The Niqab is a Trudeau thing lol, he keeps bringing it up like it's important and the others are pretty much dismissing it as a non-event.

My family grew up on the equivalent of about $20k per year and never took a single handout.

Complaining about $90k in taxes means that you really have nothing to worry about.

Denmark? Iceland? Finland? New Zealand? Rampant capitalism (read: oligarchy) does not work. (Edit: well, it works, but depends on which side of the line you're on.... it's not sustainable on the world macro scale.)

Socialism does not work, it breeds laziness an self pity. I'm not a Harper fan,per say, but as it stands, I'd never vote for the other leaders.

What? and vote for the other idiots who want to raise taxes and run deficits? I am not a blueblood conservative but I am not an idiot. I will vote for the party who will do the least amount of damage and that just so happens that the conservative party will do that. I don't trust a substitute drama teacher to run this country. Nor do I trust the guy who has re-mortgaged his home 11 times to ruin it either. Green party gimme a f@cking braek.

I've tried to stay out of the political discussion but...

Voting for Harper means that you tacitly agree with his views on:
- Pork barrel economics (see Duffy, Wallen among others)
- Raising the national debt to a degree not seen in our lifetimes
- Mismanaging EI and CP and turning seniors into the new ghetto class by doing so.
- Bush-esque (GW that is) leadership where calm rational debate on criminal/nation defense/societal problems equals lock 'em all up and let God sort them out.
- Marginalization and criminalization of the most vulnerable members of society including the homeless, mentally ill and drug addicts (most of them go hand in hand)
- Bringing in sweeping laws in the name of 'security' without first thinking about the implications and effects those laws might have.
- Being in power during the worst scandals of the century in federal politics yet somehow staying clean despite many of his advisors falling on their swords.

If you agree with Harper on all that, then by all means, vote for his party and enjoy another 4 years of scandal, tax cuts which will erode the coffers of the government, more cuts to programs and services and infrastructure projects in places that neither need nor deserve them under the guise of 'strengthening the economy'. I personally will not be voting Harper, but I won't dislike anyone who does.

I know plenty of people who earn 6 figures who would never vote for Harper. Of course, they're all visible minorities.

he has to worry about getting a second or third vacation home, what size boat he can get, what US school his kid can go to...

The poor don't get it, they think because the wealthy have money that life is easy.

I believe that there are certain human rights which should be taken care of such as health and education. Germany is a prime example: Healthcare is free for those who cannot afford it and there are private options for those who want better care. Education is free to all levels, and as a consequence they are one of the world's intellectual powers. Despite this, Angela Merkel is leader of a centre-right party (i.e. similar to the Conservatives here)... so it's manageable. The key is to make sure that people are not held back from reaching their potential based on what they were born into.
