the only reason they're both gone is cuz JB made a stupid move in trading Garrison instead of just trading Bieksa.

Garrison would still be here stabilizing our D. the guy was solid in his own end and could make a first pass without giving it away. he also literally damaged players with his heavy shot.

opposing centres or forwards couldn't outmuscle the guy...

Doubt it.

He was ok his first season, less then so his second.

The reason he damaged guys with his shot was because he couldn't hit the net.

He was soft, nice guy, but definitely soft.

On what basis. Enough is enough. Sadly for Torres he's just playing in the wrong era. If he played in the 90s he would have been a better hitter then stevens

Nope still here.

I was the one who posted "well done Trevor and Jim". Max replied with "that's sarcasm right?" And away we went.

I'll give props when props are due. I've lobbied for the young guys to be played and they are playing the young guys. No complaints from me.

If I hit it a bazillion times and it worked only 3 times, wouldn't it be a internet problems. You put as much common sense into your come backs as you do your serious posts

No. Cracknell is a responsible NHL 4th line player. Knows his role and doesn't mind mixing it up a bit. No need to waste talent centring a line of Prust and Dorsett. I think it was a no brainer. Obviously canuck management was thinking there was the potential of Vey not being ready or they wouldn't have gone out and got Cracknell.

I'm throwing Vey in the same pile as Jensen. Sven might still land on that pile but he's played well in the pre-season. Pleasant surprise.

- bloatedmosquito

That last playoff game Vey was in, he looked better than he looked in the preseason. This preseason, he has looked like he thought he was a vet and his spot not in jeopardy. Yet, in a couple interviews he sort of questioned being handed so much so soon last season, when he maybe should have earned it...

I still have a little hope for Vey. At least Vey has shown more offense at the AHL level than Jensen.

On the basis that union's challenge suspensions of it's personnel.
How about...it was unintentional.

He's done in the league now, no team will want to risk a contract on him after this, why bother when the next suspension will be a year if not permanent ban? The NHLPA doesn't have a leg to stand on based upon the CBA.

Don't suspended players still count against the cap or 23 man roster? I remember reading something like that last year. Sucks for SJ if true.

So apparently his cap hit and roster spot will count for SJ. Ouch.

If they keep him on the team after, his first game back is against McJesus

on the basis he's not a repeat offender according to the NHL's own rules you pos. get a clue...

Chris Simon got 30 games and he literally stomped on a guy's body part with his skate blade. this guy did what was legal up until a few years ago... they gave him 25 games some time ago, but jumping it up to 41 is a stretch...

there's no precedent for this length of suspension.
