If you were GM is Vey the type of player you would have on your roster? As of yet, he doesn't fit anywhere.

It amazes me there are some guys who just have an amazing ability to play hockey. It comes so natural to them. Lots of examples of really good hockey players not being good NHLers. Wellwood being one of them.

I play rec hockey with a few guys who shouldn't be playing rec hockey. They are so good and they don’t even try. One guy in his early 40s wears sweatpants as socks (under his hockey pants) and his skates have the metal pegs attaching blade to boot. I had to face off against him and when they dropped the puck I started digging as if there was gold under centre ice. He didn't even move and neither did the puck.

He calmly took the puck and skated away. After the game we laughed so hard we had tears.

Wellwood wasn't actually that bad imo, he's one of those guys who never looks good on your lineup card as a 3LC but at the end of the day, he did his job.

Well, well I certainly hope this announcement brings sanity and patience and composure back to some.

I'm happy that JB stuck with his statement regarding youth playing their way onto the team, good on you JB.

Prust will be useful against the big teams at least.

I think we are all getting a little of what we asked. He's playing the youth while maintaining a vet core. I think Benning has made some rookie GM mistakes but as a whole he's starting the season with a roster that everyone can find positives about.
