James Mirtle @mirtle .
Story: The Canucks made a blunder. The Leafs got Frank Corrado as a result. Babcock smiled. James wrote this http://t.co/axVAAAf2oe

not even going to bother reading... JB wanted to trade FC or move him to Utica, not have him sit in the press box. No takers on the trade front, try waivers to Utica...

It is like the Leafs have different goals than the Canucks.

When has the mgmt group worried about cap space and roster spots ?

Like I said originally it isn't a big deal at all, but it is still a lost prospect no matter how you want to spin it. He took the risk that he would go through waivers and lost that gamble.

- belcherbd

It is a lost prospect that they couldn't give a rats ass about.

What is his specialty? His booming shots? Or his huge body checks or his great speed taking the puck from one end to the other? We lost a grunt that fills minutes . Waaaaaaaa

They would have been happy to see him end up in Utica.

But in no way was FC the difference maker in whether the Canucks make the playoffs or not. If he was, maybe the Leafs will see the post season.

All in all, I think this is once again not very good asset management on Benning's part. As someone pointed out, they could have sent Hutton down and then put Higgins on LTIR which would facilitate bringing Hutton back up, as is my understanding (perhaps someone could confirm/clarify)

Fortunately, Corrado isn't exactly a game-breaker so I don't think this will come back to bite Benning on the hindquarters. However, it again undermines my confidence in whether or not Benning is able to be creative and astute enough to maximize roster returns.

In any event, I'm nonetheless looking forward to tomorrow! It's fantastic to have hockey back

It isn't bad asset management. Corrado either went on Waivers now or later. At least now there was a chance to squeak through

I highly doubt they couldn't give a rat's ass about him, had that been the case, he wouldn't of been resigned this past season and wouldn't of still been with the team up until the last cuts.

He got outplayed and they decided to risk him through waivers, end of story, not a big deal but I'm sure they would of loved to have him in Utica. Not everything needs to be spun as a Benning coup....

whats with all the whining? My god.
you guys would whine if we :

1. used him on the team, that other players were better or
2. if we traded him it wouldnt be enough or
3. waived him.

like all the whining last time about Lack sucking in net, then he was better than anyone else , when he wasnt played enough, then he sucked in net, then whine again when he was traded.

This has gotten retarded.

Politics is or can be an extremely polarizing subject, especially to those who's party has power, but it can also be an extremely sore subject with many individuals that have been personally affected by the gov't and it's policies.

This is a warning to any and all that wish to post political rhetoric in this hockey forum, it will no longer be tolerated as I feel it breaks the CoC on the site.

If anyone has an issue with this please send a PM, otherwise back to hockey.

I don't think he was impressing any one. No better than last season. Apparently no trade interest from other teams.
He just created a spot for some one who passed him in development and I doubt the Leafs are winning the cup by adding him.
I see it as a positive.

I think it is a positive for all involved. Corrodo is happy. Leafs are happy. I certainly am not crying over spilled milk and I didn't get the impression Canuck management was either. The only people who lose are Utica.
