Going to be a very interesting game, wonder how much the last game of the playoffs is going to be a factor. I still stand by my prediction yesterday, a close 1-1 game that goes to overtime with Calgary managing to win with 19 year old rookie sensation Sam Bennett getting the OT winner.

low expectations but hope that the kids progress in their development. clear out some vets for picks and have another decent draft next summer.

i think that's what most of us suspect/want.

higgins/burrows/vrbatta/hamhuis/hansen trades should be explored.

i wouldn't mind re-signing hamhuis to a friendly contract in the off season but he and vrbatta definitely have to be moved at the tdl.

I'd like to see Benning take a shot at more college free agents, that seems to be a pool of pretty close to NHL-ready talent that doesn't cost draft picks or assets (see Tanev, Hutton, Larkin, etc.)

I really don't understand the buzz around this. Benning gave the kid a legit shot to show what he's got. He was eventually passed over by Pedan/Fedun... Benning tried to trade him and had zero takers. Instead of puting Higgins on LTIR which would make him un-tradeable until Nov (which I dont think he is tradable anyways). Babcock goes to the media and says "from what I saw from old footage of the kid, I think he is going to be great.." and everyone gets upset..

Like I said, if you can pick the cream of the NCAA free agents, that would help to make the vets expendable. I still think the NHL should change their draft rules to be something similar to the NFL where you have to be 20 to be drafted, or play minimum 3 years in junior. Then you get players who are finished growing and maturing and can immediately step in the AHL if they aren't ready for full-time NHL duty.
