It was on the 1040 , rebroadcast from the scrum at the rink.

So JB did something the guys on 1040 wouldn't have done, and they are freaking out.

JB basically said Frankie was the 7 or 8th guy and needed to play to get better. Tried to trade, couldn't, and so they risked waivers...

I can understand a little disappointment with losing him but ffs, what has he shown in thee last 2 seasons?

Sekeres and Price have been raking Benning over the coals all day. Now that Sedin is on it's: "are you excited to start the season, or super excited?"

They're definitely leaving their options open because those kids are far from a lock. The regular season is a different ballgame for sure. This is smart on their part…but I understand it's hard for fans to see the big picture.

It's much the same as losing a guy like Lack, no one will give a rats ass in 12 months time but it's the talk of the town right now because there's nothing else to discuss.

- LeftCoaster

Big picture is that Corrado sitting in Vancouver is NOT an asset. Corrado playing and improving in Utica IS an asset. At the point that he is in his career, you need to be seeing improvement. Corrado is not providing that. We wasn't even tradeable.
As waiver material, he cost TO nothing. Either they play him and he improves, or he continues to be a tweener and they try to demote. He is solely depth with potential to them. Might end up back on waivers or might turn out ok

Gillis sent him back twice also. Typical Vancouver crying over bubble players.

General statement not directed at you

I think the fan base would have put up with a real rebuild, but the media would have it all under the microscope with every minor move having major ramifications.

Sekeres being an asshat today on the 1040.

Benning did everything aside from coming out and blatantly saying we didn't like COrrado on this team. Take the hint Sekeres, there was no plan for Frankie .

Hutton Biega Pedan and Fedun all passed him in the depth charts

- VANTEL

I doubt all those guys passed him on the depth chart but moot point now. I wonder if they tried to trade Corrado before waiving him.

Listening to 1040 reminds me of Fox News here in the States.... Trying to manufacture outrage out of nothing. It's disgusting.

Benning said when asked what if Hutton is sent down won't you be missing COrrado then , he replied no we have Biega Fedun and Pedan who will probably play here later this year.

I take that as COrrado is not what we were hoping for.

If Biega, Fedun, and Pedan are playing on the team this year in any regular capacity we're not going very far.

It should be Lack and Markstrom.. Miller should have been shipped out or even waived.

I take Bonino all day over Sutter with the contract he has.

Where is the outrage about all of the players we lost for nothing during the off season. Cal O'Riley was the Comets leading scorer last year in both the regular season and playoffs, he was team captain and mentor to so many of our minor league players, and the team just let him walk away for nothing!

Very clear to me that Canucks were not impressed with FC . They tried to trade him , no takers.

In his best interest and theirs they decided to not waste a spot for someone they were not impressed with. So he could develop more they tried to send him down and would not be called up again this year because of waiver complications.

They finally said , screw it , if we lose him so be it. They did and now the freak out begins

No.
- AlexF

So really what you are saying is that the team is no worse off today then they were yesterday, they just have one less player contract on the books.

It would have been nice to get a 5th or 6th round pick in exchange for Frankie, but it sounds like no one was even willing to part with that...

Yeech... this feels like we are at a high school reunion where everyone else has done better than us.

That being said, Corrado's upside was he was young... he was not exceptional in any phase of the game and his breakout passes where often poor/rushed/stupid.
