In fact it could be argued that JB GAINED an asset today. Instead of having a player that was dropping in the depth chart and brought nothing new to the team, they now have a additional free and clear signing space. JB now has room to bring in a new bauble, whether it be through trade, FA signing, or locking in a current propsect into a ELC.

Yes it could be argued, some say it should be, but just fair warning to you, you are going to be attacked until the puck drops tomorrow.

As a Leaf fan when people are offering you credit for something you should probably take it.

I can't blame Benning for taking risks, it would of been safer to keep Corrado and send Hutton down but if is like you said a pretty acceptable risk. At some point we need to see those risks paying dividends though.

I think Linden's comments the strangest yet about being able to place Higgins on ltir and not risk Corrado. I wonder if they think they can trade him ?

- belcherbd

Translation is:
1) Corrado is useless to this team while sitting in the press box in Vancouver.
2) If we get injuries, he would rather bring up someone from the AHL who is showing promise. He is big on Beiga, Fedun, Pedan.
3) The fact that he did not cut Corrado loose completely says that they still think he has potential but needs lots of quality hockey time (read AHL) to develop and regain confidence.
4) The options with Corrado ranked by preference to Linden are:
- play in Utica
- get claimed and open signing/trading space
- play in Vancouver

In other words, the decision was that they would rather lose FC than have him wasting cap and space in Vancouver. Message was VERY clear.

I saw the series... read the series so I'm most likely way ahead of you. I also listened to the audio books narrated by one of the best in the business... like a 1 man stage show.

You think you are so clever dont you.

but he's done so well.... 28GP 2 goals and zero assists and a minus 7. Not a physical presence at all.

Imagine if Gillis moved Kesler when he asked instead of leaving us with a pissed of Kesler and 1 team to trade with

Sbisa would be elsewhere... Bonino... Sutter.... it goes on and on. Your boy is still screwing us.

Gillis planned to sign Sbisa, Miller and Sutter. Aquilini forced Benning to stick to the plan.

I'd be a better GM than both of them.

When has the mgmt group worried about cap space and roster spots ?

Like I said originally it isn't a big deal at all, but it is still a lost prospect no matter how you want to spin it. He took the risk that he would go through waivers and lost that gamble.
