I have to hand credit when credit is due. Congratulations to Scott Laughton and Brandon Manning for making the team. I never have high hopes for rookies during their rookie year. I believe we should let them play and evaluate next season. With Laughton in the line up, Couturier has to bring more offensively, there is no excuse now.

Gudas vs. Schenn, I think you have to go with Schenn. Maybe Gudas is shaking off rust but the Coach is here to be hash and win games.

I agree the Sam Gagner has to play a tougher game. We need him to work hard. We need his playmaking ability.

Ryan White is the guy I'm most excited to see a full season. He's the Steve Ott I think this team could use. Decent faceoff man, tough, will finally used on the PK, agitator. Just an all around useful player.

Of course he does, that was the point. I think we'd all be relieved/surprised if someone grabbed him. If the Flyers were interested in trading him they couldn't have been asking for much so you have to figure the hold up was term and cash.

Well the courturier debate will be over after this year on whether hes a 2c or not. Hes having the 2nd pp catered to him and his linemates strengths. Hes going to see more offensive zone starts with schenn and simmonds on his wings. And he in all circumstances seems to be playing exclusively with guys with offensive skill sets so id expect him to always be paired with a combination of read schenn simmonds gagner.

I think for opening night back in tampa i just feel like they go gudas. But if he gets terrorized by his former team its a short leash and i think l schenn gets in. Im glad he recognizes we only need one of that type of defenseman in the line up at a time. That being said i really hope manning can continue to progress. And im disappointed to see mdz on the third pairing. I get they are trying to balance combinations but after signing his contract ive felt hes reverted back to his old ways.
