Not buying the Devils being better than the Flyers. They don't have anything approaching Giroux or Voracek, their defense is similar to the Flyers(no real number one, several young guys with questions) and the goaltending is a wash, IMO. - Jsaquella
I assumed they'll beat us 7 times. |

You're totally right. I think I was confusing him with Laine. Is that who you're talking about? I missed the earlier post.
I like Puljujarvi. I was watching some video of him a few weeks back. Last season he was 16 for most of the year and still fared well. - TheGreat28
Yes forget all their names ill have them memorized by week 3 i swear. He may rise too high for us to gnab or he may be around rantanen territory |

Agreed. I'm pretty confident that the Flyers finish ahead of NJ and Carolina. Its the other 5 teams in the Metro that are the problem |

I think Buffallo could be a tough team as well. Maybe not great. But tough.

We havent proven that thus far this pre season. Lets play pessimist and the defense regresses and the offense does not take a step forward ? We were 7th last year. Is it really unreasonable we finish 2 or 3 places lower |

Already talking about prospects we will never draft...
But I guess it makes sense. Every other topic has been chewed to death, and I don't expect the flyers to make the playoffs. |

Suck for Tkachuk
Screw the crown get Logan Brown
Lose with zeal for Sammy Steel
Throw the season down the drain, all we need is Patrick Laine.
But in the end we'll just pick some kid named Travis in the first round |

No, I get the joke on this page, but people have been talking about drafting prospects for a few pages, and that's okay.
I just find it odd that many out there talk about the flyers drafting in the top 3 slots this early in the season, or late in the preseason. I have neverliked talking about it for a few reasons.
1. Drafting one player doesn't help unless you have a good supporting cast around that player in most cases.
2. Picking in the top three historically means that your team has not played well throughout the season.
It's much more important for your core players to win tight games, get to the playoffs, and get experience than it is for the team to loose to have a better chance at a high draft pick. As simple as is sounds, losing consistently yields a losing attitude that can be very hard to break. |

That's a bit much this early, many who I've personally mentioned are not those who are that highly ranked as of this moment & could indicate they'd be available even to a team making the playoffs.

And I get that. That's why I didn't direct my original statement at anyone. Everyone is entitled to their own thought process, and if you like that, great. I know you and tomahawk love discussing prospects. You get enjoyment out of watching players progress.
Just me personally, I don't like talking about it in certain situations. It was just more of a general comment. |

I know, I mainly watch prospects to get personal knowledge of their games & styles. Plus it's just more hockey to watch |

I would love to watch more hockey, but I just can't do it at the moment. I have so much going on, my wife only puts up with about half of my shoot, so I get to watch all the flyers games, some other NHL evevery once in a while. I make her watch a lot of crap (at least in her eyes), and there is no way she would put up with watching 16-18 year olds play hockey. |

I love it. I love seeing opinions verse my own opinion. And I especially love seeing what the kids grow into as nhl Players.
This board is a flyers board as well as a hockey board. Granted these prospects are dream prospects but still fun to discuss with fellow hockey guys. I don't have friends who follow as intently as you all do. |
