Yes. And it's a no go. It's as much of a no go as me watching say yes to the dress.

Anyone else surprised that vancouver allowed corrada to get plucked off waivers? 22 yr old solid dman. RH shot. If the flyers would have had a shot at him I would have claimed him.

The average salary of an AHL player is roughly $90,000 per year.

Andrew Macdonald will break that mark when he plays his 5th period of hockey for the Phantoms

if my math is right, that's roughly $20,576 per period. honestly, that's just (frank)ing ridiculous.

He will be. But unless we get a nice offer or we deal a forward I think it could be a bit before we see him.

Tomorrow night ought to be interesting. On the road against Tampa, a team the Flyers really struggle with, and who just happen to be considered by some to be the odds on favorite to come out of the East again.

My first thought was this would be a good benchmark contest, a chance to get to see where the Flyers stand against the big dogs. My second thought was... its the first game of the season, and it may not be a good representation of anything.

Hopefully they find a way to to break their Florida trip habit of losing. Winning that first game is a big deal considering the way they have been starting seasons lately

Followed by the Panthers twice and chicago. Two more teams we don't play well against. 2-2 I'd be ecstatic

It is Hakstol's first game behind an NHL bench... so, maybe it is a big deal.

Depending on how they look tomorrow night, I may be annoyed that I have to get up at 4:30am Friday, or I may be relieved that I have an excuse to turn off the TV early.

I think some things may shake out in the six day break after the 4th game.

I'm inclined to agree that it will happen sooner rather than later. Someone is going to get hurt somewhere. Perhaps it will be a Flyer or maybe its another team that suddenly finds itself in need of defensive depth.

Last year, the Flyers had a revolving door early on at defense. Later in the year, there was something of a logjam, but in the early games they had a definite need for warm bodies on the blue line. This is why I'd rather the Flyers not make a move before they absolutely have to and I'd rather have them trading from a position of strength (meaning they're filling some other teams desperate need) rather than a position of weakness in any event.

Maybe if Luke Schenn gets hurt or once they trade him. Then, maybe they'll recall him.
