I know. It just would have been much more ideal to have a song that's tolerable to go along with it. - HonkFortheGoose
Ultimately, it seems like the team wants Let Me Clear my Throat. I don't believe that they have been showing the result of the voting, and the players/team have a say in the decision. I think it's destined to be something overrated in the end. |

How many wins does stafford add to the average team though? - Sabresfan-365
First off, he's 1 guy, so that's an invalid argument.
Second, it's not McGinn replacing Stafford (Stafford has been replaced by Kane, O'Reilly or Reinhart most likely), it's McGinn replacing Ellis/McCormick/Kaleta/insert scrub here.
Third, I'm not sure of McGinn's defensive skills, so while he may produce offensively like Stafford, I'm pretty sure Stafford was a regular on the PK (of course, that doesn't mean he was there for superior skill either). |

This question is wholly irrelevant.
Most importantly because he is being added to the Sabres, which were anything but "the average team," especially after the trades that led to Stafford's departure.
But also because we didn't just add Stafford/McGinn level talent. |

I meant that in terms of wins above replacement and I never said mcginn was replacing stafford. Just that while McGinn is a greater contributor to the team over say matt ellis (who shouldn't be anywhere near the nhl) it doesn't necessarily make his contribution worth a whole lot compared to the rest of the league (which is their competition). I have no idea on his defensive abilities outside of that one stinker they had against ottawa. |

Right but that's kinda my point. Huge strides were made, which for the average team usually would take them to a playoff level or contending level but since this team was a special kind of bad i wonder how far up they'll go. |

I get it, but my point was McGinn is perhaps the 6th or 7th most important add the Sabres made. |

"Chad Johnson, has proven to be a product of the team around him and he's also coming off of an injury. He was lights-out on an exceptional Boston Bruins team while being below-average on an average NY Islanders club."
An AVERAGE NY Isles team? That finished one point shy of home ice in the first round? Johnson was well below average for the Isles. |

You mean an 8-11 team he played with in 14/15 is some stellar team? |

You have strange expectations. One point behind the Stanley Cup champ Black Hawks in the league overall standings is average to you?
With 30 teams in the league tied for 8th overall is not average, certainly not in any math class I took. And the Metro was pretty darn tough. 21-6-3 versus Rangers, Pens, Senators, Blue Jackets, Flyers, etc.
