I like them . We are not really rivals . They have a good fan base , and I've been impressed how quick they turned things around. They are a good young team and in a few years I can see them as our main competition. - VANTEL
I do think they have really improved and Brad Treliving and Brian Burke have got them pointed in the right direction. Their fans are decent for the most part, and pretty knowledgeable.
Still hate the Flames. |

i've outlined why i hate the oil. too many years picking too high in the draft with little to no change in management. this summer being the exception.
did i call someone, a poster on here, a name? you've never seen anyone deride another team by manipulating their moniker? no one on here has ever insulted the leafs organization with a derisive comment?
some guys got their knickers in a knot a long time ago and that's their issue not mine. i stick to putting my 2 cents in regarding the team and what's going on as much as possible. this site is for opinions and banter. some people take it way too seriously.
i'm a fan of the nux, whether you or anyone else on here approves is irrelevant. - kaptaan

I've never understood why some feel we're supposed to cheer for any Canadian team in the playoffs if the Canucks aren't in it. I hate the Flames all year. I hate the Oilers all year (although I haven't had to worry about them in the playoffs for a decade or so). I won't cheer for any other team in our division. If the Capitals are playing Edmonton, I'm cheering for the Caps. If Tampa Bay is playing Calgary, I'm rooting for the Bolts.
I can admit when they are improving or are a good team, but I'll never cheer for them. - we_are_all_canucks

I hate every other team. Some more than others but still hate. I like some players on other teams and enjoy watching certain other teams when they are not playing my team. I enjoy watching good hockey. It doesn't mean I have to like the team. - thundachunk

I think the argument for cheering for another Canadian team makes sense when Nucks are (inevitably) eliminated.
Hockey is a Canadian game.
A Canadian team has not won the cup this century.
We cheer for team Canada.
Canucks are not really rivals with other Canadian cities.
I guess it comes down to your love of the game vs obsession with a team.
Personally, I enjoy cheering for the nucks all season, but don't get worked up when they lose. C'est la vie.

My two favourite teams are the Canucks and whoever is playing the Flames
Lots of great players around the league, love to tune in and watch them do their thing. As other noted, Sakic was awesome in his day, Forsberg won me a playoff pool one year, you have to respect guys that played the game at a high level, the right way. Just don't ask me to cheer for the Flames is all I'm saying. |

I love the game. I can't cheer for a team that is normally a bitter rival. Doesn't mean I love the game any less. |
