I also get and see hurt at work, this afternoon a worker on site fell off of a ladder and smashed his face in, air evac, decreased LOC, the whole 9 yards. He was making around 100k a year, and guess what? risky job, but you do it for the money.
I would take multiple face smashes in a fight for the money they make.

Womans hockey is skilled, no fighting.... go watch that if fighting is so bad.

Oh (frank) off. They are regular people with problems like the rest of us. If that same scenario happen to a few of us I imagine there be guilt and depression. Yet everybody wants to blame concussions.
Yes, they are real. Yes they are serious but everybody who experiences severe mental problems it isn't the result of concussions.

IF I'd of know that online forums led to fighting I never would have started, but now that I have I'm going to position the mods to eliminate anything that could hurt anyone's feelings because I guarantee that everyone who has suffered from depression has had their feelings hurt before.

I'm leaving the internet and killing my router! I can't take it anymore! All the fighting in forums traumatized me! If I knew that I'd be completely anonymous and get lots of posts, but have to flame people to protect my fellow posters, I'd never have started in the first place! Who cares that I get lots of respect, admiration and get looked up to by lurkers and deal with trolls all the time, life sucks!

I have never played at a high level, I've played high, but that's usually just street hockey. I've been a fan and student of the game since 94. I did attend a goaltending camp at ubc and have played lots of ball and street hockey add well as pond hockey. No ice rinks where I grew up, however I have played some beer legue as well as other sports such as football. Intimidation is a huge party of contact sports and that includes hockey and fighting.
Here's a little made up story. Just a social situation story.
A guy is constantly harassing you verbally. You ignore it. Soon your getting elbowed and tripped all the time. If you'spaz' and take a swing at the guy the first time it happened guess what? It would stop happening. This happens in most social situations, happened on the basketball court with me once, obviously not at 2am downtown but it is profusely ignorant to say that it would not deter certain behaviors in people.
I hope I didn't make anyone feel unwelcome or put anyone in a negative mind frame.....
