Lehner got his skate caught in a rut and was hurt as a result. It might prove to be a strain, but it's not a short-term injury.

Oh, I know. To be quite honest though, I expected to see a game more along the lines of a 4-3 or 5-4 though. I figured the offense would be fine but the defense and goaltending to be a problem. It ended up kind of being the opposite.

It's a long season, but this team has a lot of work to do to get comfortable with one another. I can see them pushing for the last playoff spot, but I can also see them finishing around 5-7 from the bottom of the league too.

I am hoping for many games like that while understanding that so many teams play such a buttoned up style now that makes it very difficult to have games like we are hopeful to see.

Coaching has gone overboard with systems. The officiating certainly is not helping in that regard.

I think the record is going to be pretty bad the first 10 or so games while everyone gets settled in.

This isn't a plug and play video game. It doesn't just work. These guys need to learn each other, and see who clicks with who.

do you mean present tense or potential? He took a lot of heat for that second goal (thought it was well played by stone) but i liked a lot of what i saw from him. im convinced he has what it takes but young D-men do have their ups and downs
