Does anyone know why General Fanager says Canucks are over the cap? Carol?

I am guessing they will have to put Higgins or Markstrom on ltir...

but beyond that, the cap is a magical thing with a mind of its own, that I fail to understand.

Yeah, they're still showing Markstrom as an active player, so I assume that's why their numbers don't quite align.

Even though it looks like Markstrom is listed as day-to-day, I believe teams still get cap relief for injured players, even if they're not on IR.

I emailed General Fanager a few days ago to ask if they were going to institute a waiver calculator and in their reply, they suggested that I email or tweet them in future if I have questions. Why don't you ask them - see what they say?

In other news, the game-day blog is now live:

I have t jumped any ship. I just can't stand his managerial style. When you have a dinosaur in Latroy Hawkins giving up two straight singles, clearly not throwing the ball the way he did Fukking 80 years ago. You yank him.

His bullpen management has been atrocious.

While I agree he left Latroy in one batter too long, the reason they lost was two singles through the final 8 innings. Our offense had plenty of opportunities to score a single run.
