He shows signs. He's very inconsistent. Which is kinda normal for a power forward.

I'm not writing the guy off by any means. Whereas I always figured McCann was a steal on draft day I thought Virtanen was a safe pick, nothing more.

I think he was clearly the best player available.

Nylander and Ehlers might disagree.

Yup. Married, easy going and slightly stupid. That's the secret recipe for happiness.

I neither of those things, but I'm pretty good at negotiating. A lot of win-wins in my play book.

Well if history repeats it will be when they hit rock bottom or are close to 35 looking for a final home run contract

You don't recall how pi$$ed McCann was when he slid to 24? He was projected to be around what? 12 or so? McCann out of the gate looks to be a more skilled player.
- rugdnit

They play a different type of game, not comparable IMO...both bring needed elements to the table.

McCann is obviously more skilled but Jake brings a heavy game you won't see smaller guys like Nylander and Ehlers bring.

Yeah, but how many win win wins? If you don't have three wins you're basically losing.

I don't disagree. I just think the fishbowl TO is probably is not the best environment for just about any kid.

I bad McCann in the 10-12 range. I was wishing we would have gotten the sens first rather then the ducks so we could get McCann at 10.
I think McCann is a way better prospect t now. But Virtanen hasn't gotten much better where is McCann has exploded.

Sure; however, you generally see the more skilled players chosen higher. Virtanen was a very SAFE pick.

At least THAT kid has a father who was a good player in the league. Probably learned a thing or two at home about dealing with media.

Nylander is a dreadfully lazy player. One of the worst I've seen. If they can fix that, hrs def got skill.
